I have to agree with osoboosted ^^^, im pretty sure a FI civic running anything above 6psi could take a S. That being said, the S will make more power, without internal work, when it gets turbo or supercharged.

The swap will put out more power, but how much psi is the turbo vic running? Now if your going turbo to turbo, the S hands down.

I have an idea...how about we get some HP and TQ numbers for a type S with IHE (club RSX should have that info I would suspect) and compare them with the numbers our turbo guys are putting down (I'm sure I could find a few threads from catalyst witht hat info). Then it's not an opinion or speculation. And we could answer civic30's question.

Yup, the swap will put out more power.......a Type S is 200 hp, right ? And the Type R is 220....... So, with I/H/E, u are looking at about 210 for the Type S. A EX with SF was dyno'ed at 189 hp, if i remember correctly at 8psi.
ok why dont u get some real type s numbers cause while its 200hp its not WHP... its like 160 whp. I/H/E ... maybe then ur up to 175-180...
if im running 11psi .. ur telling me ur gonnna beat me?
u guys dont even have a turbo'd vic and ur commenting..
AND THE VIDEO WAS ROBS.

I'll have to say "must be 5psi". At 4.5 psi I beat my friend's 14 sec GSX as soon as I hit 2nd gear. Type-s's are quick, but at 5 I can usually beat 'em. The mid range pull is just awesome. Plus turbos can be upgraded... for the cost of a type-s swap, you could still afford to upgrade the internals to your d17 to handle about 12-15psi. I wanna see a daily driven all-motor type-s even try to keep up with that...

remember catalyst did 13.6 at 3000ft elevation, his civic is a lot faster now and probably does 12's. I know i can take a type s that has i/h/e with no problem
Guys the TODA RSX put damn close to 200 to the wheels with I/H/E. With an engine kit (ECU, Camshafts, Valve Springs) 225 hp. And all motor Type-S's with pistons and internals have hit 263 on a dyno with still more elemnts to tune.
Money for money: Turbo
But the Type S has many more options out there for you.

And the All Motor is in the November Honda Tuning.

that kit is 2,300. So, lets say that u do the swap for 6 g's, that is over 8,000 plus it only produces 155 ft/lbs of torque. A stock EX with the SF kit was chassis dyno'ed at 183 ft/lbs at 8 psi.

if you knew how much HP a type-s throws down with i/h/e then why the f*ck are you asking if a turbo can beat it?? what you should of asked is how much PSI would you need to beat one or something along those lines, so DO NOT act like you know it all when its crystal clear that you DONT! cuz i'm sure if you knew it all you would have seen that little flashing red link at the top of the screen that says SEARCH!. you should learn not to flame someone whos trying to help you noobRegistered!!

/\/\/\ haha. In that video rob said he was running low psi, he raced a 350z for fun and that was pretty cool kept up quite well. Type S at the wheels horsepower has 163.8hp not sure about torque that's what import tuner said when doing theyre dynos. As far as the TODA comment how much is the Toda kit I know it's gotta be quite expensive but that's the way it is with N/A.
