how to read boost/gauge reccomendations

getting SF turbo installed next Saturday! Woo hoo. Anyone have any reccomendations for gauges. Also...sorry for stupid question but...how do you read the boost gauge? Does 1 bar = 9 psi or whatever? What exactly is 1 bar? The little divisions or the actual #1...thanks
