Catalyst's Next Project..... Ok guys/gals since Catalyst said we should make a post about what his next project is gonna be where we can all speculate what's next.
Well here it is.
I think he's gonna drop a K20 Type R head on a K24 CRV block. Then since he said he planned on showing get a turbo and make everything chrome and shiney, but still focus on power. I think he's going for 350HP.

I really dont like chrome, im more for the whole flourescent powdercoating look. Like the translucent blue sprayed over black chrome. That looks nice.

Depends..... The fastest D17 so far is my 13.6 sec pass i believe. But if you consider the K20 swap, then i am no match (until my secret project is complete )
My secret project doenst include the D17. And it wont be done til i go 12's with the D17. Im trying to prove that the D17 is a good engine. But then i want to go show.

Rep Power: 0 a D17 with 30psi and all the work could theoretically make 500hp... plus.. all the K cars have an IMPOSSIBLE time hooking up... car is SO fatty though

Oh yea, anyone want to see what my engine builder did in 1996? He was the fastest Honda in the world for almost a full year. And he was in the lead by almost a half second!

You need real audio player to watch this. The first 2 hondas to race were the 2 fastest cars (revhard and someone else), until dave made his solo pass later that day. Just watch, and you will see.

EDIT: Well, i cant say 500 whp is nothing. But it is more than possible. Dave builds single cam engines to handle 700 whp, so that is a possibility.
Also, i have a ton of respect for that car, so dont think im poking fun or anything.

ur gonna put vinyl on cuz we all know that vinyl adds horsepower !!!

Rep Power: 313 well, if you lower the compression slightly, have rods, sleeves, and pistons, then some bitchin DHracing head work, ill bet you can make 300+ on pump gas

Rep Power: 0 cat... youre killing them with the secret.. but i wont tell anyone, dont worry.. this move is a ways away guys.. he needs to get fully built motor, intake manifold, throttle body, then shoot for 12s before he even goes for anything else... imo his car could hit high 12s right now with good tires and good track.. 12.8 or so...

Rep Power: 313 The D17 is just like the other D series motors. If done right, you can make tons of power. This motor is just bigger than the others.
And this is a ways away. I still need to go 12's on pump gas with my civic.

Rep Power: 0 You I would think a K24/Type-S head and tranny combo would do it.
Thats what I would rather do instead of a turbo, and you could always turbo it later for more power.
Maybe hes going to do a sleeved and stroked K24.
