Ummm. I dont know what your thinking but SF did not invent the FMU. He uses as part of his fuel system.

No, didn't invent the fmu, but if their setup with the extra injectors was so great, why did they copy Mike Stafford's design to use the same exact thing for a returnless fuel system? Sounds like a straight up copy to me, just like the rest of his kit.

isn't the SF fuel system basically an FMU hooked to an inline fuel pump?

No, it has an fpr built into the unit which regulates the pressure without the return line.

I never said anyone invented anything.....I thought the sf kit had a modified "vortech fmu" along with three vacuum hoses and wires....

Yeah I know some people just want to have something to bitch about.....I never said anything about anyone inventing anything. .....especially since it's a "Vortech" fmu....

I brought these up b/c I need something cheaper then a 550 dollar option for my fuel system, I'm willing to spend that much but not on something that i don't know if I can upgrade and i really don't understand clearly how it works and hasn't been proven over a long period of time(maybe there isn't something like this yet....) ....I'm completely open to suggestions

honestly 550 dollars on a fuel system is extremly cheap for us... if you compared it to the option of converting our cars to a return fuel system... the one you showed above im sure is good.. but you have to adjust it ... what good is that? sf's regulates itself based on pressure.. thus giving more fuel with more psi... automatically.... imo its worth the 550.. rather its worth the 3k for the sf kit.

I agree with you but I don't really know anything about the sf kit....
and why spend 3k when you could piece together a turbo kit that is every bit as good for less then half that? I'm sure the sf kit is awesome but mine will be every bit as awesome and I will spend a lot less...

Doesn't the sf kit use the vortech fmu I showed? and if it does it's 189 dollars and I have friends who could figure it out for sure.......hell one of my friends just decompiled the Jim Wolf ECU and created a better one, he got hired by a company merely for his skills with ecu's and fuel systems and now that's all he does is work on z32 tts all day Not to mention he built a computer system and wrote code for his car and now his entire car is run by this computer, his boost is even based on a decaying curve that he designed.......I'm pretty sure I could get this one done.......

Maybe I will be proven wrong....time will tell
SF rocks for sure, but I want to see if I can come up with something as well......as good and for less

Since when are companies not allowed to sell and FMU with their kits. Why dont you go to every website that sells an FMU and call them copiers of SF. Also they dont even sell that with the D17 kit...

Because not every site designs that same exact setup to add a 10:1 for returnless fuel rails.

Thats not made for a returnless setup...That is the original Vortech FMU...Also your can choose many different pressure setups for an FMU. i.e 12:1, 10:1, 8:1, 6:1, 4:1....
