17s will hurt you a lil bit. i ran better 0-60' times with my 17s in comparison with my 15" si wheels. This was only because i had much better tires on the 17s (parada spec-2 vs the stock firestones).

i use about 20 psi of pressure. And the wheels all depend.... you have to remember that the 17's are probably heavier, but they could also be wider. It may equal out. But for the most part they probably arent helping you out at all.

All to hit low 13's?? Not to mention after you did all that, Do you think this car would be daily drivable?
I would just take 2500$ down to my mitsubishi dealership, trade in the civic for an EVO 8
Spend another 4000$ on upgrades your gonna have a great DAILY DRIVABLE AWD 12 sec car.

I agree 100% !!!!!!!!!!!! Wayyyyyy too much money to spend on a civic to run 13's, and be able to keep up with MANY other cars running that straight from the factory.........

I blew my head gasket when i lost a water line on my air-water intercooler. That caused the water inside the intercooler to actually heat up the air, causing my car to detonate at 4 psi. It was the detonation that blew the head gasket.

I wouldn't say a WRX is that fast from the factory. I know I went from a Honda to a WRX for the fact of getting harrassed constatly by cops for having a modified honda as well as being sent to the California State referre so much that they knew my name wasn't that much fun anymore. Sometimes you purchase a car like the wrx so you don't have to deal with the headaches of modification and have some factory reliability. And believe me, cops here in Cali don't even know what a WRX is.
On the other hand if you drive a civic with so much as an aftermarket exhaust, you get pulled over quick! To me the reason is the look on other people's faces when you can beat or at least keep up with them.
Not to mention the mileage compared to say..a Camaro or Corvette.
Even though I own an '84 Camaro and a '74 Stingray
A newer Camaro gets way better mileage though, and can go a lot faster with the same amount of money in modifications, but the inital cost is higher on a factory perf. car. Unless you buy a used car, but then it is harder to get financing for those of us who have less than perfect credit.
That is why I bought the Honda instead of that '98 Camaro SS I wanted (I still drool over it)
They want $18K for the Camaro (fully loaded, t-tops, leather, etc.) but the interest rate was 22%! Jeeze, I told them to call me if they got me closer to 10% The down payment was $2500
The Honda EX was $17,500 with the aero kit, dash kit, and wing.
The interest on that is exactly 10%, and they paid for the TT&L, and no down payment.
Thats not to say that there arent those who go buy a Honda because they saw F & F too many times.

I have a factory performance car... In fact, i have 3 of them. 2 1985 corvettes and a 99 corvette. I still love to drive the civic because they are nice to fix up. My 99 vette is rather quick, and my goal is to just run circles around it with my civic. I already tore up my 2 85 vettes, and that is why one of them is now being built up. It should be 500 whp by the time im done. Then when the civic tears up the new vette, it will be time to throw some heads, cam, intake, etc. on the new one. (just kinda hesitant to do that now).
The thing is, i like the civic because i really dont have to worry about it. I worry about my 99 vette because it is brand new. And i worry about my good 85 because it was just painted a few months ago.
