What the hell? I have a T3/T04B. And Turbonetics upgraded my wheels and ****. I still start spooling around 2000-2500. And no... I'm not lying. I can post graphs to prove it from the E-manage.

All to hit low 13's?? Not to mention after you did all that, Do you think this car would be daily drivable?
I would just take 2500$ down to my mitsubishi dealership, trade in the civic for an EVO 8
Spend another 4000$ on upgrades your gonna have a great DAILY DRIVABLE AWD 12 sec car.
Just my point of veiw.
all that for a d17

ok I dont think you people understand all of the things c2i0v0i1c bought. His bill was so high because he purchased Two turbos, another engine,pistons,injectors,E-manage,and a return line. I know all of you say well you can get those results with the SF with half the money, but he didnt just buy a kit he bought 10x more. Also I bet that his car is more reliable at 10+ psi then the SF. Im not in any way trashing SF's kit at all, but I am sick of all of your giving him **** because he chose a different route, instead of jumping on a bandwagon.
and BTW the k20 is making 240 whp with bolt-ons....why spend the money on building the d17?
rsx type-S motor mods
Toda Spec-B cams, valve springs and Ti retainers, mild ported head with 1mm os
intake valves, JDM type-r intake manifold, Hitech exhaust header, Hondata ECU,
AEM CAI, Greddy exhaust, UR Pulley set and thats it! The ported head only made
6 whp so you can say it makes 240 whp with out going inside the motor at all.
246whp.... 240whp without porting.

so he spent 28.000 for a base evo 8 or 33.000 for a fully loaded with everything evo 8, plus whatever other mods he did after he got it. so lets say he spent 2k. 30.000-35.000
now my car 14.000+10.000=24.000
i know i know 10k, i messed up in a few places along the way, get over it and accept it i did.
35.000-24.000=11.000
that mean i have 11.000 more to spend........now wheres that evo 8....holy **** whats that in the rear view....omg he hasnt even passed the tree yet

That still not very impressive. Granted, its impressive that they can make our cars that fast. But its not fast, not compared to some of the American Muscle driving around.

american muscle huh.....blah no fun..........my dads boss has 11 original hemi cudas in the garage...yea they are nice.......but u know what......they are so damn expensive the dont DRIVE THEM...well the most they move is on and off the trailer. at 250k a piece value, and the time it takes to fix them which he does in his own residential garage, this garage i envy its got a damn near autozone in it with spare parts. it aint worth it
huh.. well... I don't think thats a very valid arguement. Because generally when you buy factory tuned cars you buy them for the styling and to look like a rich ***. Obviously you can tune a car for cheaper with aftermarket parts, but I bet you he still has a warranty where as you do not. Also, his car was designed to be ran like that yours is not, so he has no reliability issues up until his warranty period is over, but if you shoot a rod tommorow you are shafted. Not to mention that in the eyes of most people, it will still just be a Civic, regardless of how fast it is.

o its just a evo too
the day he does ne thing to the turbo ie upgrade aftermarketly warranty can be kissed goodbye

Nah man, you could have bought a Camaro SS with lots of performance parts. Granted it would not be brand new, but since you don't have a warranty anyways who gives a ****. Also, I don't think you can claim that your Honda gets better gas milage when it is running high boost levels. A Camaro SS gets 28 Miles per gallon highway. Also Mustang GTs are very under-rated, everyone dogs on them but the truth of the matter is they are very easy to tune. And those are EXTREMELY cheap, I could trade in my EX Civic for one right now, straight up. They lose their value very quickly.

wtf 25 grand? k20a on ebay 3500, parts and labor around 2000 more. equals 5500 cybernation turbo "stage 4 is 12 grand" so Im assuminmg its probably 8 grand for stage 3, custom work and custom, probably around 5 grand max.
So 5500 + 8000 + 5000 = around 19000 max.
So 5500 + 8000 + 5000 = around 19000 max.

NA!!!
The k20 mods I listed are good for over 240 whp naturally aspirated!!!! That's without touching internals at all.... Do realize what that car would run??? Easily low 13s, slicks 12s.....now imagine that boosted.....you would have over 200whp before the turbo even spooled up......
The type R k20 makes 218 whp with just the hondata standalone CAI and catback
That's sick bro.....
I realize it's expensive but by the time you get that kind of horsepower out of the D17 you will have spent much more.....
Catalyst is running a 13.6 @102 with 230 whp w/ turbo.......now imagine 240whp NA....
yeah, damn fast car, not to mention sleeper....

NO way bro, absolutely no way is a turbo car with 230 whp gonna beat a NA with 240 not only would the K20 tear him out of the whole it would trap a much better time.....dont' have to wait for anything to spool up....
BTW the K20 is not hard to boost it was making 240 whp without touching internals....
no high compression there...

The RSX type S is almost 300lbs heavier than the civic coupe. Plus the type S will not make near as much torque as Mike's car will. So in all the Civic will win.

Those cars are awesome!
that shiznit is way faster than my civic
