Blocks the same on the LX and EX?
Does anyone know the truth to this question. Are the only diff about the motors are the heads? A and A2? So does that mean the blocks are the same?

thats what it says for the 2004 cars but who here is FI a 2004. if that is the only difference then why was i able to put lx forged pistons into ex block no prob. assumption here......blocks are the same size, just that the pistons are different thus making the CR different...am i right. i want to know the answer to this question too

Yes. Just like any other honda engine, the first part indicates the block series B16, D16, B18 etc, the second part indicates the series of the head, C1, C5, A2 etc. So all D17 blocks are the same, and the differences are the pistons etc. All D17 block parts will be interchangeable

I spoke with a bunch of guys on the Honda tech site and Cbus Hondas as well. They say the blocks are the same ....the pistons change the senerio. The compression would be lowered slightly switching from and EX to an LX or etc...
