vtec makes a steady 10whp more.. but can be a real pain to tune once you make big power... ESPECIALLY on turbo.. lx is just easier, and better imo... but some people differ.. you should REALLY use the LX head as well 2i0.. the EX head is MADE for vtec, even has the cam in there.. its a waste to have it on the omtor and not use it, you can even sell it to someone doing the mini me swap, and buy an lx head... then port it out.. BALLER.. thats what im getting soon...

I have the SF kit on my EX and while you do need to dial in the fuel a little more to make it not run too rich (a/f gauge and fuel pressure g are helpful) it is fine. I also haven't been in and LX w/ the kit to compare but I am running 9PSI right now and not one problem!

this EGR valve recirculates exhaust gases back into the intake manifold and then reburns them thus making our stock emissions ULEV. with turbo who the heck wants to reburn exhaust. i have my ex motor on 12 so i dont know what a lx on ne thing feels like

pop ur hood if u have a ex, look at the valve cover, look to the left, there is a black canister with like a cone shaped top, thats it. my shop just didnt put it in, as far as being internal or external, i dont know where the tubes and/or whatever is related to it is but it doesnt seem to be necessary in turbo applications, its stupid for turbo yes, but for emissions its obviously a great thing to the GOVERNMENT.
if you just take off your EGR you will get a check engine light on an EX from the computer wondering why its not plugged in. from that point you have 2 choices, 1: leave the canister plugged in and just bock off the passages or 2: you can find the voltage that runs through the plug and find a matching resistor to "fool" the ecu into thinking everything is peachy keen with the egr system. either way i'd definately get rid of the system b/c it doenst do any good besides making hot spots in the engine and gunking up things.

Well I'll take a look at it tomorrow at the NE Civ meet. If I figure out a quick way to do it, I'll make a post of it, and most likely a DIY, along with a lot of pics.
