He has a built engine...unlike you. He doesnt need alcohol injection to run 12 psi. Also his fuel setup is way more comprehensive allowing him to run greater amounts of boost without risking blowing his engine, unlike you.

Built engine or not, without something to either raise octae or retarcd the timing, it doesn't matter, you'll still have issues with detonation.

I dont think he is having any problems with detonation. Im sure his tuner is ver good, and can make 12 psi work without raising the octane or having to retard the timing. I mean look at cataylyst he was running 11 psi daily, on their fuel system, which is an fmu and fuel pump, where as c201icivic is running 12 with a return line, with bigger injectors and the E-Manage(?)

the only thing holding me back is the stock rods, and if those happen break then i have crower rods waiting in my room to replace them. another reason that im not worried about ne thing is that my compression is considerably lower that what i think to be anyone on this site. my tuners are the shiz, someone who can take a car that they have never worked on before, they specialize in honda and acura, make a return put the emanage in which isnt even listed in the manual on what wire is what, build a fuel map and plug it in and have it near perfect the first time says alot to me. and by tuners i mean two, the other one is the owner of DYNAMIC AUTOSPORTS, eddie kim. the car runs perfect on 93 octane, and idles like its stock, and puts out no smoke at all.

now back to the topic of this post, im glad u are happy with ur kit.

Not sure about c201 but I know catalyst wasn't running that high of boost without alcohol.

EDIT: Ok, with lowered compression, that's a different story. You couldn't run that high of boost on stock internals without something to prevent detonation.

i dont know of anyone CORRECTLY running the SF kit and having smoke out the back end.. atleast not that i know of.. i have none.. im still on 4-4.5 psi for now.. didnt get a chance to turn it up any cause i need to have my exhaust flange modified to fit up with the downpipe better... ( NOT NOT NOT SF 's fault... exhaiust was made to fit my kamikaze which was actually shorter than stock for some reason..)... took a Porsche 944 Turbo on freeway on way home today by 1.5-2 cars... and i started off slow... rpms were too low... he was TRYING to race for like 1 mile... my gurl wouldnt let me... finally she was like.. "take him out already"....:LMAO./.. she's a KEEPER!

and my old lx block that i have will work just fine if i put a hole in the block, slap the vtec head on it after i sleeve the lx block, put the new rods and pistons in it and put it back together.
