What should i do??
What should i do??
i have a 2003 civic that i got in late june. i ahve done some performance and body work to the car and i am having trouble wondering what i should do now. my question is this: should i just turbo charge the stock engine or should i do a k20A2 engine swap and go from there....i got to college in new hampshire and live in new york so seeing as hoiw im a college student money is vey tight. what do you think i should do?
i can get the $3000 for the turbo but i would also get low compression pistons so i could get more boost so yeah that would be more money...but the total price of the engine swap would be around $10,000, i just wanted to know if people think i should save my money (for awhile) to get the swap done or just get the trubo kit.

I would just do turbo. Much faster and more fun to tweak down the road.
*EDIT - When I say "faster" I mean faster to install. Both the swap and the turbo have great potential.

$10,000 IMHO is still too much for a swap. I mean i understand WHY the price is so high seeing as though the k-series are a fairly new motor. But I still say it's too much to invest for what you get. If you're gonna throw down 10k, use it for somethin better. Like a hatchy with an H22 dropped in it.

werd what she said. yea i would go turbo all the way SF kit! with the SF kit and new pistons ur looking at like 3500-4000 wich is so much cheaper than a k20 swap. but if u want to go big then EK with a b16head and b18bottom and away u go! so over the h22 now that everyone wants to do it. its a good engine but over rated just like when the b16 came out and thats the swap everyone wanted to do. but hey i would take both in a nice EK
does anyone know what type of hp gain i would get with the stafford fabrication turbo kit and low compression pistons from www.discounters.com ?
sorry i ment www.turbodiscounters.com
I'd get the SF base kit, and then JE pistons. Call JE because they custom make them I think. Or pm c201icivc or something, because he has them. You would probably be looking at like 200 or so hp

Hey I recommend the Max-Rev kit...but It looks like he wants a kit with a FULL fuel setup. Max-Rev's kit is great, but its more for people who know a bunch about fuel setups, thats why I'm doing a more extensive fuel setup then the SF kit. If he jsut wants a kit to slap on get the SF, if he wants to research fuel stuff and get a diff setup then SF get the Max-Rev So I was just recommending SF. Also why make this a big deal Im trying to help someone out...christ. I guess everyone hates me because a bought a diff turbo kit. Also
