Hey i pay for my car alone, no help from parents so when i want mods Its hard to save up money for them... I really wanted the FI route..but its too expensive right now and im not approved for loans...(so far)
But ive decided to save up some money.
If i got all those internals that you got will there be any HP increase?
how about including P&P

In fact I just did a search for you - from engines in Georga (which is where KMS is) -
CHEAPEST price I found was $450. I can't attest to the quality of the engine, but since they are rebuilding it you might not need the best parts anyhow....

i went to kms last night... the dudes got all sorts of machines that make high qual internal parts... he showed me how some of the stuff worked... i thought it was really cool. i am going to do the whole engine now.... the head included... then im going to get it dynoed and tuned and the same time... i wont have my car for another month or so but hopefully it's all worth it... i got one of my old pistons as a souvenier... hehe.
i'll get a list for you guys of what exactly is being done and the price just in case any of ya are interested. =)

NOT hatin on you or KMS.,.. just that they hjave yet to do anything good for our motors really.. i would have DH do the whole motor bro.. i talked to dave about doing it, he will.. pm me if you wanna know what price you are looking at, but you are also looking at a motor that can probly handle 25+ psi... and maybe a shot of the juice on top of that.. you will NEED axles and framework for pushing this motor.. just saying, hes VERY expewrienced.. BEST honda builder in US imo... plenty of 9 second B16s... not to mention his daily driver, crx with non-vtec d16 ALL motor runnin mid 12's.. spemnding all that money, be VERY carefull where you go.. spend it in the right place and you will be the fastest here by a LONG shot.

Here is the breakdown of the estimate, this will include the build rate for
the engine and install of engine.
Pistons $600, head gasket $90, bearings $300, rods $900, rings $110, blockguard $75, springs and retainers $290, valves $220, oil pump $95, the engine build price is $700, this includes micropolishing the crank, checking all bearing clearances, honing and boring and assembly.
The installation and removal is $800. This total is $4180.00.
Additional Options: turbo port and polish $600, turbo cam $550, dyno time $300
$500 (3-5 hours for tuning)
what about the titanium products they sell for our cars? just because some people got the manifold and didnt install it right doesnt mean kms is shady.

actually its not THAT much more expensive to re-sleeve your block (800 or so) but what would be the point really? my motor is going to KMS tomorrow to get basicly the same thing done as Robb and i've chosen NOT to sleeve the block for one reason....ill never go over 20psi EVER. resleeveing your block is for people that want to go up and beyond 25psi. a blockguard ( if installed correctly) will provide enough strength to handle what most people are going to use the motor for. i've talked to 5 building companies and 4 of them told me i didnt need to re-sleeve my motor for reasons above. provided your not detonating and not spiking boost too much over 20psi ever you'll be perfectly find without a closed deck.

and ur going to need a roll cage and a fire suit and a helmet and lots of other things. those part prices ARE rediculous

pistons=not bad
Rods=holy **** WAY too HIGH
Rings=WTF, those should come with the pistons for 600 and it would be reasonable
1 head gasket=90 bucks there bettttter be something special about it
bearings= you should be able to kit those and a complete gasket kit for about 100 bucks more
Block guard=waste IMO
springs=ok
retainers=ok
valves=ok
oil pump=ok
build price=relatively cheap IMO considering what all they are doing
