Oil consumption w/ turbo

Ever since I installed my turbo Iv'e noticed that I burn a little oil when ever I open my car up. Now that I'm running @ 8PSI my oil consumption seems to have increased.

Is anyone else w/ turbo having this problem?

IDQcivic should not be trusted
are you supposed to still use 3.7 quarts or do you have to add more when you change it?

Look in your owner's manual.
DX, LX 3.4 quarts
EX 3.7 quarts (not 100% sure on ex)
I wouldn't try adding more, that's a good way to destroy the head.

I use 5-w30 synthetic. You have to add about 2-3 ounces more oil to make up for the lines.

As far as pics I havent had a chance to take them. I promise Ill have them up by this weekend.

How often do i need to change my oil w/ a turbo? Is it still every 10,000 miles if i stay witht the lighter oil, or do i have to go down to every 3,000 miles?

Every 3,000 and check the level every time you fuel up. Oh and speaking of fueling up get Sunoco 94 octane if you can find it.

It does, but haven't you figured it out by now....if you jack up the engine outside of warranty, you pay for it, its a money maker for them. With turbo, depending on how hard you drive it I would say 2500 mile changes with turbo are ideal

wait are you saying honda is trying to get people to ruin their engines? That doesnt seem very likely. I think that it would be a determent to buying a new honda if you followed the instructions they gave you and it ****ed up your car. I dont think I would buy another honda if that were true. Also, I have read other places on the internet that it really isent neccesary to change your oil every 3.000 miles and that you could easily wait until 6,000 because of how advanced our oils have become. I am not stating that as fact, I am not sure if that is true. Anyone heard anything about that? I mean... our engines are much more advanced than they used to be.. yet we still change our oil every 3,000 miles?

i put a rollcage in a 1969 mustang mach1 and in the glove box was the origanal service requirements from ford ,change oil every 6000 miles.and that was a dinosuar as far as effiecentcy go's .my guess the ones who sell us oil say we need to change it more offten . then they charge us to dispose of the old oil and charge us for the new oil !

so if oil has gotten better and engines have gotten better than why do we have to change the oil twice as often . seems to me we could cut toxic waste in half .

10w-30 synthetic seems to hold up to the heat from the turbo pretty well, thats what I recomend.

im using castrol syntec 10-40

10k miles between oil changes there wouldnt be any oil left in there, and with a turbo, ud better change at 3000 at the latest, other wise ull blow the 3000 or whatever u spent on a turbo kit

Just dump in the first 3 quarts, and then keep pouring and checking untill you get it right.
