Looking into a turbo w/ stock engine
I have a 02 EX sedan and am looking into turbocharging it in the future. I know that the turbo kit will run around $3000, but what else do I have to buy besides the kit? I know about the basic turbo accessories (controllers, timers), but do I have to buy a turbo exhaust and a new clutch and a bunch of other stuff too? As of right now, my engine is bone stock and am waiting to do anything until the car's paid off and it's completely mine. Basically what I want to know is, if I turbocharge my stock car, what do I HAVE TO install besides the kit and what is recommended?

uh oh...
You really don't have to install anything else. I'd highly recommend a clutch. Also a timer just so you don't deal with the hassle of waiting. You don't even need an exhaust, but you'll benefit greatly from it.
Search around though... it's been asked before.

Yeah, I know it's been asked, but the answers are splattered all over the place and I just want someone to make some sort of list with apprx. prices and gains. Something like
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Part - Price - gain (HP and/or driveability)
Stronly Recommended
Clutch - $-$ - None, grip
Exhaust - $-$ - 8HP, breathing
Recommended
Boost Cont. - $-$ - blahhblah
Turbo Timer - $-$ - blah blah
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get what I'm lookin for? The reason I want all of this is to know what I'm in for. I don't want to get a turbo and two weeks later have a burned clutch and some other broken part due to the stress caused on the components. But I also want to know what I can do to the turbo in order to milk the power out of it.

It needs some serious updates. I got a lot of better **** to share... including detailed fuel system layouts from extra injectors to a full return. I want to add more accurate details to the wastegate section. Plus a lot more. Originally posted by Smokie2k2LX
