SF 1/4 mile time!!! 13.902@102.79mph

i went to Keystone Raceway yesterday (thursday) and wasnt expecting to do very good at all b/c my air/water intercooler was once again not functioning b/c my pump keeps breakin on me. lol, anyhow, started out running a 15.2@94 which i thought was how the night was going to be. Got an idea to pack ice on top of the intercooler and see if we could get a charge and ended up packing 3 bags all over the car....there was about 15 minutes in between the runs so there was plenty of time to get the car cool again. had the air pressure at 27psi in my crappy all-season BFGoodrich vr4 tires and managed to keep the car running 14.3 and lower passes all nite long somehow. Boost was at 7-8psi all night long. My second to last pass was the 13.9 pass, i had wheel hop the whole way through 1st and burned the tires off the whole way through 2nd but the car was sure moving. I have to take a shot of my timeslip so i can post it b/c im sure most people wont believe me, lol. Me and Mike at SF couldnt understand how i got the car to run 13.9 at all but the car was just right and the launch was just right i suppose.

i was runnning 9psi and at the time my intercooler was working properly and me and a friend packed it full of ice...the drop in pressure was letting me see 4-5psi on my gauge so stupid us thought thats wat we were actually runnning and so we turned it abck up to 9psi which was actually going from 9 to 13-14psi so we drove it up at 13-14psi for 20 min b4 the headgasket blew....boy was it fun though

are headgaskets easy to replace?? hmmm... so because the ice made the pressure drop, it was still going just as fast as you had it on 9psi if not faster but it showed 4-5psi... and with the ice still in it, you bumped it to 9 which would be like 14 psi w/o ice?

OoooOOOo. ok. almost hitting 5th. gotcha. that's odd. i guess our gear ratios are shorter... most people have said you shouldnt be going into 4th on the 1/4 but i guess that would be correct if you were n/a? or am i retarded... blah its late.

u got the concept there bud.....um, me and my friend took about 3hrs to get the motor and tranny out, took us another 4hrs to install the clutch, check the head, replace the headgasket, put a block guard in, reseal the oil pan again, and put it back in the car and have it running.....total about 7hrs from start to the time the car ran

You should put on your steelies when you run rsx. Those 17's or 18's won't help you reach your goal.

pistons came from JE they are 9:1, and dish style, with the way my setup is my CR is like 7.2-7.8 to 1, the pistons came with no valve seats but then again the stock valve seats look like little nicks on the top of the piston. i think they were like 500-550 or something id have to look at the bill that i dont have in front of me right now, honda cranks can take alot more power than im going to be able to give to it, so i didnt touch the crank

first the pistons are dish, since there were no valve seats in them we put 2 head gaskets in, and then at top dead center the piston was still a few mm from the very top of the cylinder, the shop doesnt do a compression test, so its a guesstimate
