i'm just curious if anyone knows if the current turbo setups for our cars (SF power or turbo discounters) are emissions legal. california has strict emissions laws and i'd like to not have to pull off the turbo every time i go for a smog check.

makes sense....well if i could get a cat welded onto a short pipe and just slapped it in there, it might work hmm... thanks for the help.
well i guess i'll find out after this semester, i'm taking a smog licensing class. so after this last class i'll be able to get my CACC requirments out of the way so i can get my smog license. then i can learn all the tricks to passing myself, hehe.
Yeah, I think you've got the idea. When you have a downpipe, you won't want restriction from a cat, you want to run a test pipe. If you have a drop out for the test pipe, you can replace it with the cat when you want to test for emmissions.

From what I heard the turbo downpipe bolts straight up the the stock downpipe, thats why I bought the random tech cat so it wont be as restrictive, and If I get a turbo setup then I'll be all set....
