Boost gauges
what's the dif between a full sweep electrical and mechanical boost gauge? the electric ones are expensive... is the mechanical ones compatible and are they just as easy to install as the electrical ones?
help please. or.. can people who have the sf kit or any turbo direct me to the right gauges? i am going to buy them today. thanks

Electric uses a sensor by the manifold and connects to your actual gauge with a wire. Mechanical (what I have) runs a small, clear line for air to pass through straight from the manifold to the gauge. Mechanical is cheaper but sometimes less reliable and a pain to get hook up without kinking the the lines sometimes. Electric is a lot more but your only limit is the amount of electrical wire you have. Good luck.
robb, i got my guages off ebay and some from summit racing. get electrical, but you can probably find some for a good price on ebay..i got an ac autotechnic boost for 40 bucks and it's indiglo to match my guages and i mounted it in a carbon cub(made by autometer) behind the steering wheel
