e-Manage users and O2 sensor CEL??
It seems that more and more people are using the e-Manage to address A/F with their turbo applications. That's what I'm using, but it's not perfect.
Has anyone used the e-Manage with perfection? If so, was there some trick to it?
My mechanic has spent days tuning my e-Manage and it still isn't perfect. Idling is sporadic and it seems to get worse and worse as the stock ECU re-learns the curves. I.e., it works best immediately after resetting the stock ECU, then it gets worse from there until I reset the ECU again.
I remember the guy who had the water injected intercooler (redvic?) saying that the "stock ECU is smart and rejects the e-Manage" -- not sure if this is possible, but it certainly seems that way. If anyone knows how to resolve this, please advise. I'll have to call GReddy too and see what they have to say.
I also wanted the e-Manage to control ignition timing, but GReddy has yet to release a software fix that will support ignition control on our cars :-(
The other major problem is the CEL. I get a CEL about every 50km. We read the ODB-II code and the cause is the O2 sensor. Because I'm using an aftermarket hi-flow CAT that isn't as effective as the stock CAT, the second O2 sensor assumes that the CAT is malfunctioning and throws a code.
For those of you using hi-flow CATs or no CAT at all, how are you addressing this problem? We're planning on installing a test tube to fool the ECU.
BTW, my setup uses a Mitsu 16G turbo and a custom fuel rail with 450CC DSM injectors.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Did you guys do anything with the Anti Engine Stall feature? It's supposed to help out with any idleing problems (not just compressor surge or atmospheric BOVs). Supposedly... you get a range of idle RPMs to work with and you can let the e-Manage send out a constant voltage (clamp) to the ECU to make it stop seeing the fluctuation at the MAP. In theory, if it's true and the ECU/Sensor is the one creating the problem, it should work.
As far as the O2 sensor... what about that O2 sensor "fooler" that people had to put in there header when the CEL went on?
