Just wanted to know what you guys were using.Turbo is on the way, when I install it I'll be switching to Mobil1, but wasn't sure if I should stick to same weight(5w) or switch to 15.Just wanted to know the best and what you guys are using/recommend.Thanks.

i would say staywith the same wieht and change your oil every 3,000 miles if you don't do it all ready.

i change it every 3, though i've heard with FI, you may want to do it every 2...but if you're using a synthetic, they don't break down as easily anyway. thanks for your input, leaning toward staying 5w-30

I woudl say using a 10W-30 would be your best bet. Also according to the site, we should stay away from full synthetic, a synthetic blent isn't too bad but I still recommend an SL blend 10W-30.

So I know the recommended oil to use for a 2003 EX civic is 5w 20... but I purchased the wrong grade and got 15w 40... and I was told that it wasn't too horrible for the car, but just be sure to not do it again and to change it in 3,000 miles. But I was wondering if it was retarded to put it in anyway. Just wanna hear some feedback. PS sorry for reviving this dead thread.

ur motor is REALLY gonna hate u if u put that in....so i suggest returning it...and getting the right stuff...


my car is reaching 100k so i switched from 5w20 to 5w30...and also switched to valvoline max life....good stuff
