Hey guys, this is my first post ever.

I own a 2001 Civic LX auto sedan. Just hit 100k on it and the trans is slipping...According to many message boards it seems us 2001/2 owners really got screwed. I don't want to alaram anyone but check out this site, look up our car, and go to some of the "scary" links on the right...

So anyway, on Monday I'm taking it to Castle Honda in Morton Grove and a "district investigator" is going to check out my car to see if I qualify for a "good faith replacement or reimbursement". Thing is though, I'm just bought a 2004 d15a1 engine/tranny combo on eBay.

So...

If they don't fix my car for free, should I just install the new Tranny or should I do the complete swap? The new engine supposedly has 18lk on it which sounds nice, and also wouldn't it be better to keep the original package complete?

Can anyone recommend a good swap shop? It should be simple, it's just an exact replacement....so I'm not lookin to spend a whole lot.

Any help would be appreciated.
