Is it really worth it

I decided to do this topic cause im bored, Is it really worth to go get your check up on every assigned mile appointment? Would you be able to do it yourself? I have 37,000 miles on mine and its a 2003 so i guess that is more then average. Went to 1 appointment and got my 30,000 mile check up and they said everything is fine but you may need new brake pads soon. Now when you hit your next appointment at 40,000 is it really worth the $140 at the dealership you give them or can you really do it yourself by using basic mechanic skills?

maybe go every so often for stuff like chassis lubrication, a suspension inspection, etc. but the dealership charges for those service intervals is insane. read the manual, see what they say to do, and it's do-able. i even change my own oil now w/ synthetic, still cheaper than the dealership.

I do oil and all that crap myself...I got 12k on my motor, and I only brought it to the dealer once, and never again.
