2005 Civic SE (VP) Cluster Wiring
Hello Everyone,
I tried to swap a EX Cluster into my car and failed.
Everything went where it should except my car does NOT have the following wires:
red/yellow
blue/yellow
and the four extra wires I am left with are:
red/white
white/blue
red/green
white/red
Can anyone help me get this working, OR help me find my original wire locations so I can get my original cluster back in there?
(I've spent hours searching with no results)
Thanks

Yep. that is the instructions I was following.
My car did NOT have RED/YELLOW and BLUE/YELLOW
Instead, it had:
RED/WHITE
WHITE/RED
WHITE/BLUE
RED/GREEN
This is a VERY wierd issue, because I have not seen it in any of my searches.
Does anyone know where I can find the wiring diagram for my car's cluster harnesses?

I've sent you an e-mail with the diagrams. Three of those wires you mentioned show up on my diagram and this is what they are:
red/white: wiper system
white/red: 12V constant
white/blue: headlights (canadian models only)
red/green: not listed
This is assuming the first color is the main color of the wire and the second wire is the stripe color. I've never done this myself but hopefully you'll find this info useful.

bump with questions..
hdave, is it possible to get the wiring diagrams you got off christmaspie ?
Also, I know BIG has done the task of cluster changeovers.. perhaps you can shoot him a pm and see if he has some time perchance to give you a hand at it.

hey i just got this done about a week ago and i to have a VP.
Red/Yellow & Blue/Yellow
I know for sure there is one wire that you will not use, you basically just put electrical tape on it and leave it out. That wire i believe is for the Cruise Control feature, that we dont have. So we dont need it.
And you're trying to install and EX cluster, i installed an LX cluster with no SRS. The other wire may need to be left out also because the EX has srs and you dont.

Major thanks to Suzy Q
I got the cluster in the car and it works, that is everything except for the right turn signal on the cluster, and the headlight/parking light adjustment on the cluster. I guess now I know what those extra wires are for. I post on the VFRD website and they had a service manual for the 2002-2006 VFR800 on there, I was wondering if anyone had a service manual for the 04 civic. I have one for the 2002-2006 Honda VFR800 if anyone needs one, even though I know that this is not a motorcycle website I figured that I would throw that one out there. Thanks again for the help Suzy Q.

On each side of the harness/connectors they have like a section that pops out or shall i say Unlocks. Once you have each side "unlocked." You have to push the wires from the opposite side. Dont pull them out, push them out. At least thats what I did.
