To All Ebay Users And Members Here. Valuable Info For You.(UPDATED)
Thanks for you guys' feedbacks. Here I'm going to briefly explain the reason why I mentioned about paying via PAYPAL credit card. According to the information provided below you would have 80% to avoid frauds and 90% to get your full refund back.
1. Never buy stuffs outside Ebay. That makes your deal an invalid contract even if you have the emails or IMs saved.
2. Read description thoroughly before purchasing. Do not buy these fake wholesale list or information such as these $1000 value items for $89.
3. Try not to buy items from sellers with 0 or with many negative feedbacks. Usually they are not legit or they are RUDE&PICKY.
4. Alway use PAYPAL credit card service to pay. Paying 3% from PAYPAL is much better than losing lots of money
5. Legit auctions usually provides picture/pictures of the actual items to show that they are real. Request pictures before you involve into the auction.
6. Try not to use MO/Cashier's check. These funds cannot be cancelled or stop payment in a short time. Perheps you all didn't realize that stop payment would not work as long as the check is paid to the order of seller's name.
7. Do not listen to PAYPAL that to use PAYPAL balance since they don't give a damn if you got cheated even though they said it is "SAFE".
8. Sometimes paying a little bit more to purchase from Ebay store is much better as long as it is not as expensive as retails.
9. Sometimes you thought you missed a great deal, then a better one comes out after a few day. Great items are always existing, so don't rush. You'll get a better deal later.
10. If the seller is considered suspicious, try to request the contact info and varify if it's real. Ebay has fraud invesigation so don't worry if you would be given a neg.
I would strongly recommend to use PAYPAL credit card service to those of you would decided to purchase things over $200 value. Ebay only provides coverage up to $200 value minus $25 processing fee when you were frauded.(EX: You purchased a $300 CD player and it never shipped to you. Ebay would pay you $200-$25=$175) In order to avoid getting cheated, try to find out if the seller is a PAYPAL authorized vendor(That means a varified member from PAYPAL). You can ask the seller or try to find out by entering seller's email address to confirm at www.paypal.com. The thing is if it happens that seller did not ship the item to you plus he couldn't provide proof of shipment within a certain period(Usually about 30 days.) You would get your refund back without a problem because they have the right to get the money back to you from his bank account.
For those of you who really want to purchase some items but then the seller is not varified, you can still get your money back in the condition that payment was made via PAYPAL credit card service. This has nothing to do with Ebay or PAYPAL, but your local credit card company. The step is easy as 123. First you call the customer service and talk to the representative from Fraudulent department, and briefly explain to them about what happened. They would not ask you many questions as you thought, instead they would credit to cover your loss without asking. Please note that Credit card companies would be able to find out if the seller had shipped the package out or not, so don't ever try to cheat on their money or that would cause you big troubles.
Any questions or comments please don't hesitate to email me. These were written by myself according to my experience, but feel free to spread these to anywhere if you believe that this is a good information. I've been an Ebay member for 3 years already, and of course I did lose some money before. If you recently believe that someone is considered as a fraud or if you paid but never received the item from the seller, you can write me an email to Stephon314@AOL.com. I will do my best to assist you to get as much refund as you can. Take the best care, and feel free to check another post from me about the items I'm selling. Thanks.
Regards,
Stephen
