Seeking a Honda Sub-Compact with A/C, A/T

I have a perfectly good Honda Civic, 1990,

and its only fault is that it has no air conditioning. I need A/C and A/T for health and safety reasons: I have extreme heat sensitivity, and my sciatica necessitates an automatic transmission.

I am very nervous of Craigs List, and respect this community for the intelligent responses I have gotten to other questions.

Please let me know your thoughts, ideas and suggestions for my getting a dependable commuter Honda with the needs listed above.

I live in the San Ramon/Danville area, and have an excellent mechanic who would come with me to car appointments.
