want to remove my tint
Anyone know any good shop around SF or near SF that does remove tint without damage my windows? I planning to remove back and two side windows , and i heard it hard to remove the back windows because they have defoster wires that stick into the back windows.

I want to do the same thing on my CRX. Everyone's telling me it's a DIY kind of job... just get a steamer and a razor blade... oh yeah... and be real careful on the back window.
if you dont have exp. with removing tint, i wouldnt suggest removing the rear unless you know what your doing. ive read an article where a garbage bag was ripped up and used to stick onto the rear tint and was wetted then eventually dried so it could be pulled easily but i still wouldnt try it for personal reasons.
the side windows shouldnt be too hard. need a fairly large razor or blade, slash a cut somewhere and pull away. pull slowly and try to pull as much as you can. some amoneia* (sp) can help cause ive heard of that stuff removing tint from windows. i think windex usually has amoneia in it? if not that, some lightly soaped water.
shops usually charge $30 to remove tint on the front 2 windows, prob 20 for sides, and most likely another 20-30 for the rear.
any tint shop would be fine. as long they know what there doing

DIY for removing tints..
Things needed:
1. Goo-Gone (or any similiar product.)
2. Razor blade (w/ razor scrapper tool)
3. Invisble window (or any similiar product.)
4. Alot of patience (most importantly)
Getting started:
* The temperature of ur glass should be over 80 degrees (normal temp on a hot day).
* Start from the front and work ur way to the back.
* Another trick is to actually turn on ur defogger and heat and let it run thru out the removal process.
* If you can't find a suitable area to start cut an area in the into the tint scrape it unitl u have enuff tint to pull at.
* You shouldn't have to scrap all the tint off if the temperature is right.
* First try slowly pulling off the tint slowly (very very slowly this usually works).
* Try to go around the edges and then go to the center.
* If excess tint is remaining scrape away (excluding rear window).
* If excess goo remains apply Goo-gone with a clean cloth (you can also u those green rough thingys u use to wash dishes) and rub dry/off with separate dry cloth until window is clear.
* Clean the window with a suitable automotive window cleaning product.
* Start form the roof area and work ur way down to the rear deck.
* At the edge of the defogger lines scratch(the edge) or scrape enuff tint to pull at.
* The rear window needes the most patience. Work ur way from top to the sides to the bottom.
* A good technique when working on the bottom is pushing the tint down slowly.
* Remember the rear window is alot bigger and has less space to work with so ocassionally cut off some of ur pulling tint to give urself a better view and more space to work with.
* The 3rd barke light area is tricky a second hand to push down the rear deck is a big help.
* When ur done apply the Goo-gone (note only use soft cloths for the rear because u don't want to abrase the deffoger lines) and rub over the glass evenly, let it sit for 30 secs or less then rub away with dry cloth till surface us clear.
* Clean the window with a suitable automotive window cleaning product.
HOPE U GUYS FOLLOWED THE STEPS CAREFULLY AND HOPEFULLY IT CAME OUT GREAT WITH EASE.

FRONT AND SIDE WINDOWS
Step 1: * Roll ur door windows down a little and scrap at the edge (prefferably an area without the defogger lining for the winshield). * If you can't find a suitable area to start cut an area in the into the tint scrape it unitl u have enuff tint to pull at.

REAR WINDOW
Step 1: * Let the defogger run for a couple of minutes (The inside of the window should be hot for the skin of ur back hand).* Start form the roof area and work ur way down to the rear deck.
* At the edge of the defogger lines scratch(the edge) or scrape enuff tint to pull at.
