Hey all...

Testing the waters to see who's interested in spending the day at a local theme park. I can get discount tix for Marine World or Great America... and if we get a group of 15 or more, group rates apply which could be up to a 50% discount on ticket prices. This is not going to be a regular car meet, because the important thing on this one is just getting people together, not what they show up in. I know some people cringe at the thought of having their cars out in the parking lot unattended all day, so show up in a beater you borrowed from your parents or something... we don't care... just as long as you show.

Possible dates include:
Sat. July 30
Sun. July 31
Sat. Aug 7
Sun. Aug 8
Sat. Aug 13
Sun. Aug 14
Sat. Aug 20
Sun. Aug 21
Sat. Aug 27
Sun. Aug 28
Mon. Sept 5

Are you interested?? If so, pick one of the dates that would be good for you... If there's a good response I'll look into the group rates and whatnot.

Virtually any of those dates sound good to me too. Only problem is my son is due around sept. 1st, and my wife could go into labor any day around then, so I'm only a "maybe"....

Only reason I threw that one is cause I know some of us work weekends... I'm off that Monday... and that Sat/sun is out for me since I'm having a big ol' yard sale...

well if we do go to marine world (i used to work there in the parking department driving trams and directing traffic...yes i did...sad...sad) i can get a couple people in for free(through my ols supervisor) and free parking easy for all you guys....but that place isnt all that cracked up tp be anymore(living like 10 min away from it for most of my life), but great america sounds fun!

Bumping to keep this off the second page...

Come on guys... we're still looking for more folks who want to go. Right now, it looks like Marine World is in the lead, and no, it's not all marine animals and fluffy bunnies. Last time I went by there it looks like there's at least a couple roller coasters that would scare the living daylights out of you. Plus, if we get 15 people, we get 50% off the ticket price... plus it looks like we might get hooked up with some free (or discounted) parking.

I'm thinking either Saturday, August 13th or Saturday, September 10th. If either of these days are good for you, let me know. Nothing's set in stone yet, so if you prefer another day or the other park, don't be afraid to speak up.

Okay guys... I've got Sat. September 10th seriously in mind for this. I need a firm count of who's down to go to Marine World. Remember... I need a total of 15 people in order to get the 50% discount on tickets. If there's a chance you're going to flake or can't make it for work or whatever, then please don't say you'll definitely be there. If we end up with more than 15, the rest of the group will get the discount as well.

So, let's have it... who's down to go??

Hey man... I totally appreciate your offer. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to postpone this one till next Spring sometime. I need to rally up 15 people and right now it looks as though I'll have 9 (if I'm lucky). You'd think posting this up on 7-8 different boards would have better results... oh well

So yeah... thanks again for the offer, but this meet is postponed due to lack of interest.
