ive had 15 percent all around on my sedan forever now.
i was pretty paranoid in the beginning ie. rolling down my windows when cops drove by. but no one seems to care. *knock on wood*
5 percent looks the best but its a bitch to see out during the night.
i would say anything around 15-25 is good.

i think 65% tinted is a good amount. it still shows your identity during day and sometimes at night depending where the light is shining at.
i have 65% tinted front/96% tinted rear and so far no one hassled me about it *knocks on wood* during sunlight times, my face still shows fully when im behind the window. its like adding a layer of shade to the outsiders view. during the night, my face will show if im under a street light. if its pretty dark and blank, no one gonna see you in ur car with 65%.
here are couple pics of my tint. 65% tinted front/96% tinted rear.

but when i say my tint ratings, i go by the percent its tinted. so my windows are tinted 65% front and 96% tinted in rear. in other terms, 35% front/4% rear.hope you get the idea now.
p.s, before you get anything tinted, have them put out a sample and place it next to your window and ask yourself... is this what i really want? if they cant do that, then just look at the tint real close during the light and shade.

yea i think its jsut 30% visible or wt ever, yes thanks for the advice, i will make sure they give me sample
the lower the percent, the darker. Because it goes by visibility, 0%=0% visibility, it isnt rated backwards. Be careful when ordering your tint, you dont wanna get think its dark and get a light *** tint

i have 10% in my rears, step above limo (at least where i got mine done)
my fronts have nothing, but i've been planning on going back and getting 50% on the front windows. my friend has it on his car, and they're better than nothing.
do cops even really enforce the tint law very often?
edit: i'd find out if they have some sort of 'satisfaction guaranteed' deal...

^^ depends on the owner. he or she can be a cool person or a tree hugger that obeys the law to the fullest. but most likely you can tint the front windows anywhere because its all about money to them. just dont expect them to take blame or charges when you get pulled over for it.
make sure you have a warranty on the tint... dont want bubbles everywhere.

i think the tint law for california, is 30% front and any rear, so i m planning to get 35% front and 15-20% back going on next tuesday, should i remove the back panel so its ezier for them to tint my window? or no?
I can vouch for Omega Tintworks. I got my car done there and like three of my other friends also. I have the second lightest tint on the front windows and I got pulled over for that. Just depends on the cop around your neighborhood. The tint at that place also comes with a lifetime warranty if it ever fades in color or bubbles up then you can just take your car back there with the receipt and they will replace it for you.
