cvt = i sit on my maximum horsepower curve which is good, oh yeah im not only turbo'd, dont forget that i also have nitrous. ill use it if i have to to win

dude, i seriously doubt ur engine could handle a lot of boost and that much shots of nitrous.
and like a lot of ppl on this board, i dont think straight-away races are called "real races"... especially in automatics. whats so hard about mashing on the gas???

I say a properly modded automatic belongs on a drag strip more than it does going in circles. Why? Easy. Most of the fastest cars down the drag strip are automatic simply because automatics deliver power faster in gear changes than manuals do. If it's got enough power, it will go faster than a manual tranny.

In a "real race" or going circles around the track if both cars were pushing the same amount of power, an auto would probably lose because the manual has more control of where the RPMs should be (no, not redline, but the RPMs the engine makes it's power the best) when it comes to braking and powering out of corners. Still, it doesn't mean autos are useless. You know just as good as anyone it's a driver's race, and a driver's race around a track (even more so than in a straight line) is based on skill just as much.

Just as much as there is room for skill, there is always room for error.
