ARRRGGGGG!!!!! Im soooooo fawked...i hydrolocked my car
Hey wassup...just wanted to vent...yesterday...i was cruisin to go see and chill wit someone...when my stupid *** didnt see a puddle and drove right into it...for those that know my car...i have the Injen cold air intake with no bypass valve
...well anywayz...as soon as i hit the puddle..my engine started to splutter and then engine just died right then and there...luckily i was able to direct the car to the side of the road..or i would of blocked a major intersection...well anywayz...the cop shows up and they get a tow truck...i decided to have them tow it the closest honda dealership..seein how it would cost me bout 300-400 dollars just to get it to my house...well i get to honda...and they see my car..and they are all like "u have an intake and ur car is lowered huh" and im like "yup" and they like "u in trouble"...well anywayz...i payed 95 dollars for them to do a diagnostic on the car to find out wut is wrong...and they said they will let me know the next day...so i call up my hommie and they come pick me up and dropped me off home...well today...honda called me back..and they said that one of my cylinder was completely flooded..the spark plug chambers were messed up...and even after cleanin that up..when they cranked the car it would not stop...well anywayz...they then tell me that it would cost me $1445.00 just to tear apart the engine..and FIND OUT whats wrong...that 1445 does not includin fixin the problem, labor, or parts...just to do a closer examination...right they they say i have two options..either have them rebuild it or get a new engine...well pretty much wut imma do now is take my local mechanic that knows bout honda..have him take a look at it..and give me a price qoute...and if that fails...imma have jen aka SPEC V help me out..seein how she told me that one of her hommies are willin to tow the truck from resede to san diego, take out the engine, tear it down, rebuild it, put back the engine for 1500 flat...or i could have them do a k20 swamp for 6,000....so either way...im fawked...imma be spendin alot of money in the next couple days to come...so word of advice...GET A BYPASS valve..even thought people say its useles...for those that remember the calpoly meet i got through that flooded street wit my car wit a cai...but for some reason i couldnt get through yesterdays...so it only takes once...for ur car to go bye bye due to hydrolock well anywayz...speedmachine just called me back and told me that imma have to get a new engine...so they qouted me 2196 for everything motor, piston, rod, gasket, all parts needed, installation, and labor...also they sent me pics of my engine..and the effect that the water did to it...so here u go and enjoy click here

Sorry to hear dude, hope everything works out for you. I was in the same fawking situation yesterday. I had no choice but to take my car and I also have an Injen CAI. When backing out of my driveway, which was flooded the engine was like stalling and I just gased it and it became better. Than later on I entered the 10 east on peck rd. in El Monte and there was a big as puddle more like a lake and I was damn. I didnt see it and I went right into it. My car was stalling and again I burned it and it was all good. Im sooooo lucky that it didnt hydrolock, but Im changing it to a sri this weekend just to be safe and putting it back to CAI in the spring. Sorry my reply got sooo long, just wanted to tell you I know how you feel. Cheer up man

I have an AEM sri and my car still got water in the intake. I dont even drive in puddles , just like 50-70 mph, but i guess water gets in somehow.
My car started to choke, so i revved the engine, and it went away. You can hear your intake slerpin the water with the radio off.
It did this like 10 times now, its rainin like F**K in So.Cal.
I put a cardboard piece to protect it.
I was afraid that it would hydrolock too.
It guess ima put stock intake when it rains. .
I modded my AEM SRI by relocating the filter to the back left part of my engine bay. (a DIY intake relocation )
Will put up pics after the rain stops.
