Anyone from the Long Beach area?
Wondering who is down there, there is a slight possibility that I might move there at some point.

Dude. Anyone in Southern California (excluding those in SD) is in the Long Beach area. Most of the members active in the Socal forum are less than 1 hour driving time from Long Beach. Come on down and enjoy the sunshine.

Re: Anyone from the Long Beach area?
Its only a slight possibility. Shoot tho, any nice places in the area that are less then a grand a month tho!? Up here 650 gets you a nice apartment with two bedrooms and a pool/hot tub/exercise room on the premises.
Maybe longbeach is just hella expensive in general? You guys know a nice place to stay that might be maybe 10-15 minutes outside of where the 405/605 meet up thats cheaper n not ghetto? I'm pretty concerned about not living in a ghetto area if you cant tell! haha
Opinions welcome.
Also.. anyone know of anyone that might be able to hook me up with an accounting job down there? I graduated about 9 months ago and am studying for my CPA

yeah thats exactly where i live off the 405/605 but in the OC. the other side of the OC is LB and is actually nice the ghetto part is a few streets away from CSLUB and then towards Downtown LB but there are some really nice places over there. the price that you are looking for idk if you can find that but ill keep a look out for you. i know you can get a nice studio for retalively cheap.

not all of Long beach is really that bad - theres some pretty nice areas and homes, but the streets and driveways are a bitch if you have a lowered car. the down town area is actually pretty nice but parking can be a pain. theres a lot of cities that are 10-15 minutes away from LB but I highly doubt you could get a 2 bed room place for under a grand now a days and stay away from the ghetto at the same time.

Re: Anyone from the Long Beach area?
Luckily Long Beach is nicely along the 22/405/605, so you can live in any of the cities in that area and the commute should not be too bad. You'll get stuck in traffic sometimes, but it's nothing like LA traffic- thats for sure. Personally I think Garden Grove (excluding West Garden Grove), Stanton, Westminster and some nicer areas of Santa Ana are relatively cheap to live in, there's a definite suburb feeling and you'll see the occasional homeless person, but nothing like Compton though...

Re: Anyone from the Long Beach area?
You guys actually got stuff to burn down there? I thought it was all concrete for as far as your tank will take you. Haha.
The roads look cool... I want to drive those at some point, but I'm flying down there, not driving, otherwise it would be on and I'd pull you guys together for a meet. Next time.
So... Spending a few days down there with this girl... were hitting up disneyland one day, and hitting up hollywood another to do the tourist stuff. What else is cool to do down there- what do you suggest as must see kinda places?

Re: Anyone from the Long Beach area?
I agree with hitting up Laguna Beach. Not so much with Newport unless you want somewhere pretty nice to eat dinner at. I know your hitting Disneyland but if you guys like some decent roller coasters you could try Magic Mountain in Valencia (only open Sa-Su right now though). Knotts scary farm is happening in the evenings which would probably scare the chick into grabbing onto you. The Griffith Observatory is an option (I don't know its condition due to the fires but it could be open. The Ghetty Museum.

I guess we will be hitting up newport along our trip. Passing on Magic Mt kuz apparently its too far, and Knotts would be cool, but I've been there before- thats one one thing other then universal studios that I remember from the last time I was down there. The Observatory and the Ghetty museum we might hit up.

Re: Anyone from the Long Beach area?
Haha, it was supposed to take off half an hour ago. I actually was able to call and get a $150 credit that I can use towards any flight in the next year. I wanted to go to SF to meet up with some friends from college, but jet blue doesnt fly Portland to SF, I'd still have to go to long beach and then back up to SF, how ridiculous.. and they dont fly to seattle either. I shoulda just went with my original idea to friggen drive down there. Flying is too much bs.
Anyways, I appreciate the love guys. I really do.
