SOCAL's Official Whoring Thread!
Re: SOCAL's Official Whoring Thread!
To paint the hood and the lip, they wanted to charge me $375, but I was lucky to have connections and got away with $200. BTW, the hood was CF and required a ton of work to smooth out since it was in bad shape. Much more work was required than a normal hood. A normal one should be cheaper to paint.

FYI... Mike Jonathan and I went to ACH tonight and its really different. the centerline has those bump markers which help you see ahead but suck if you like to use both lanes. the roads havelots of gravel and rocks so be careful. Newly paved road is nice and thats about it. it was kinda wet in alot of areas so the car was really squirely.

Very nice turn out, Evan! Looks really good.
Yeah, ACH was all right; lots of gravel and the road was pretty wet and lots of fog out, too.

Feel like going next weekend? My car won't be clean but I don't give a rats ***. We can stop and Newcombs for some eats. I still haven't driven the road past the tunnels.

I don't mind the reflectors since I don't cut corners.
I'll second the not studying. Anyone know a good method to determining zero force members in trusses. My book is kind of vague.

the reflectors are actually good to use to learn your own driving line....bkus you can realize when to turn after so many times of practice to get the best line. can't wait to get back up there....but all the gravel/debris is really gonna suck... hate it the most.
and they repaved the road? which part?

He's probably talking about the section past the tunnels that they repaired after the road washed out a few years ago. I remember reading that the road surface didn't need repair, save the lines and reflectors, after the fire.

Thanks for the nice feedback guys.
Let's do another drive meet before the end of the year!
I haven't gone since I had those bald tires. Now I got my potenza's and I really want to test them out!

if we can figure out a day/time when they clean the road...maybe that's the best time to go. kus the gravel really can cause problems if its unexpected. and i've havnt been up there since like 3 weeks before the fire... so i really wanna see how it has all changed.

Now that i think about it, I won't be able to afford coilovers for awhile and my suspension is good for now. It's not the stance I want, but there's a lot of other smaller, cheaper things I can take care of first.
