Rep Power: 196 Cold Air Intake
So I want a cold air intake, preferrably Injen or AEM, but I heard that if I were to make any modifications to my engine then my warranty wouldn't be honored anymore. Plus, I don't know how much it would be to get it installed, and I don't want to pay a whole lot extra to get the job done..
But I need an Intake first so if someone knows where they have good quality and legit priced ones, and if someone knows how to instal one, then let me know! I will pay you, no worries..
Thanks!

procivic.com's based in cali, they're prices are decent. intake shouldnt void your warranty unless your dealers mad strict, even then if something breaks and they won't honor the warranty because of your intake, THEY have to prove it was infact the intake that caused the breakage. and no, i have nothing to back up what i say haha

12. The Magnusson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975 protects consumers from such fraudulent activity by new car dealers. Under this Act, aftermarket equipment that improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer's original warranty, unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle's warranty or if it can be proven that the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure. The easiest way to check this is to look in your owner's manual under, "what is notcovered". Under Magnusson-Moss Act a dealer must prove, not just vocalize, that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before they can deny warranty coverage. If they cannot prove such claim-or offer an explanation- it is your legal right to demand compliance with the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission (202.326.3128) administers the Magnusson-Moss Act and monitors compliance with warranty law. Ct cause of the failure. get an aem v2... its pretty sick.
You can buy a used intake, just buy a new filter. Buying a new intake is pretty damn expensive. I did it, bugh the V2 when it first came out and got hosed, 250+ bucks. Man, they go for like 90 bucks used now... crazy. Stay away from ebay intakes. Some ppl on here like them... but... its controversial I'll say. I dont like them- even if you do replace its filter.

I see. Well that doesn't sound bad at all. I'm going to see what's out there but if I were to buy it offline, then I'd think that a new one would be a better bet because I don't know about these online deals..

if you want a cold air then injen is your only option because they are the only company that designed their intake so it can fit it around the automatic transmission. AEM cold air will not fit with your auto tranny. with a short ram intake you can use any brand you'd like because you wont have to worry about fitment... and installing it is pretty easy, you really cant go wrong with, it goes in only one way.

To recap...
Cold Air Intake (CAI) options:
Injen
Fujita
Short Ram Intake (SRI) options:
Injen
AEM
K&N
Just about any SRI made for the 01-05 Civics
If I were you, I'd just buy a cheap eBay SRI and a high quality filter from K&N or AEM.
$200 + on an intake for our Civics is not worth it power wise and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much just for sound.
