carry a spray bottle with you and spray yourself with water before you get out of your car...

It works with laundry.

I get these big zaps every time. To cope with it, I tried closing the door by just touching the window, kick the door or I elbow it to minimize the zap because of my long sleeve.

what you guys should do is use your key to touch your car once you get out. It turns the shock to like a little tap on the fingers.

Touching your friend eh? *sigh* lame joke I know...

Anyways, I was getting shocked all summer and was really getting pissed, it seems to have died down though now that its gotten wet out here. Try grabbing the seat belt and touching the body- should decharge you. Or maybe look into a grounding kit-- I'm not sure if the verdict was out if that did the trick or not. Also- I noticed our seats create a lot of static elect. which is the reason why your super charged when you jump out. Or maybe your just dragging your heal when you switch pedals
