Smile Stuck At Work Cause Of The Rain

This is one of those times I regret lowering my car cause even with a short ram conversion from a cold air I still can suck in water. The main street to get out of my job is flooded. Has anyone been stuck like that too? Oh yea I am bored cause I am waiting to see how long it will take the rain to stop

to hydrolock, your intake has to be completely submerged in water ... I don't think the water will get high enough for anyone to hydrolock with an sri, unless you literally drive through a lake.

That sounds like a result of exhaust thermal shock

Thats when a hot exhaust and alot of cold water meet quicky.
The sound is crazy and can also make the exhaust piping contract and expandand making it hit the bottom of the car under the passenger seat.

Nothing will happen though, it somewhat normal

also what hood do you have? gotta pic

Who is Derek? O yea I get nervous when I have to drive in the rain. I dont wqrry about flooding my interior. I took off that black part thats by the wheel because it was rubbing after i got my new front bumper so I have an open shot to the intake.

YOU KNOW YOUR TOO LOW WHEN UR SHORT RAM STILL SUCKS UP WATER

nah you're fine with an sri. I have never, ever heard of a hydrolock case with a short ram.

it doesn't matter how low you are. if you look at where your filter is positioned, there's no way that much water can get in there, unless you drive through a lake.

I had a crap ebay cai on my d17 throughout the entire crazy rainy season last year and I didn't have any problems.

btw, if your filter is anywhere near your wheel, then that's not a short ram intake.

"flappy" water that gets kicked up from tires is not going to hydrolock your engine.

Then explain why when i go to swtch gears I would have to switch at low rpm's cause it sounded weird at high rpm's only during the rain in basic terms my car trips during the rain.

so I am supposed to diagnose the problems of your car through the use of such vivid descriptions as "cause it sounded weird at high rpm's" and "my car trips during the rain" ?

So you just want us to know that your car is really low and you want us to imagine it being low enough to suck up water through the second half of a cold air intake? Cuz other than that, you're just paranoid, the noises you hear is from a cold exhaust pipe (in the rain) which sounds different when hot (not in the rain). Diagnose complete.
