Hey Guys,

I haven't been on here in like foooooreveeeeer!

I need help planning a trip. I have found numerous websites online but don't have the info that I need. I want to drive with a few friends to TJ and Ensenada and hang out/ explore/ maybe part. I plan to park our car at the border and walk in.

I don't know where to go from there. Where to go to party? How to get to Ensenada from TJ? Reliable transportation? Spots to hang out? Things to see? Things to do?

I saw tourist info, but they are all tours coming from San Diego. I would really prefer not to do that. I would prefer to get there myself and do activities on my own, but I have no idea where to start and what to do.

Help please.

for tj parking on the us side is a good idea. but for ensenada you should drive your car. its pretty far from the tj border about 40-50 min. or so. Unless you can find a bus that takes you all the way. I am sure theres something but I couldn't tell you where to find it
The freedom of having a car and being able to stop in rosorito and puerto nuevo (awsome lobster) on the way up and back would be nice. Just bring plenty of change for the toll road.

I Agree About Parking In The State, Cause Man Let Me Tell You..... People Don't Know How To Drive In T.j. There Is Alot Of Good Clubs In La Revolusion. Mexican Tacos Are The Bomb, Compare To Us.

Without doubt parking on the US side is the way to go. Staying in a group is a really good idea. Personally, I think Rosarito is overrated, but Puerto Nuevo has some truely great authentic mexican food. The only sustanance in TJ you want in TJ is alcohol, because you really dont wanna know. Taking water is a good idea, but that kind of falls by the wayside if you leave the car on this side.

I dont know what else, you really just have to decide what your expectations for your trip are and let that guide you.

Make sure everyone is sobered up before getting back to the border.
There are Mexican police waiting to prey on the drunk ones.
My friend and I had to pay our way out of a ticket once.

If you are at an "open bar" you are expected to tip your server.
What I usually do is order everything on the menu at once then tip the server like $10 for 20 drinks instead of $1 a drink each time.

you'll get robbed if you go to s-clubs in tijuana. It's a dirty town to go to; I wouldn't recommend it, but you decide..

hey, I go to tj and ensenada about twice a month. I have business over there. I recommend you drive your car in TJ it really is no big deal. just dont act like a tourist. respect the people there and you should have no problems. tip people that serve you and follow the rules of the road.

if you want some specific places to go dance, hang out and sight see feel free to PM me first with what you like doing and what you dont. I'll give you some tips from there.

for example you could go watch a movie...now people that have never been may not think much of it but until you've actually gone, then you can have an opinion worth sharing.
there is a plaza called cinopolis and they have some vip movies there for $7where they have a full menu instead of a snack bar, very nice drinks coffees, teas, smoothes, alchohol, good music while your movie starts, then you go in and sit in leather lazy boys and have great service like refills on drinks or candy if you'd like. and a good movie with quality sound and picture and you're only out about $15. and thats just a movie.

now if you're only there for getting dressed up and messed up at a club well you dont need to go down to tj for that.

B! stay away. well not really but if you do go to tj park on the US side. but i would recomend going down to puerto nuveo and stay away from tj. san filepe is nice as well.

I have heard that also. but I went there late january and never got asked for it. However that is always an opening line for a mexico cop to harrass you for a bribe.

if you have your passport you should take it. usually though a california drivers license will sufice. most traveling is just common sense. mexico can be intimidating ususally for those with something to hide or with bad intentions...

They ask you for your drivers license and ask you stuff like name, address, birthday.

At least thats how it is in the middle of the night when everyone is ready to head back home.
