An automatic stalling!?!?!?

So my homeboi Abe has a problem. Besides having an automatic transmission, his car is stalling on him when he is stopping at lights. Not 24/7, but its happened 3 times now. I figure its: A) Fuel Filter B) Injectors or C) Fuel Pump.

He says he also puts 91 in the tank every once in a while, so Im not sure if its the spark plugs, but I would doubt it. What do you guys think that it is?!?!? BTW, he has 70ish K miles on it, and has never been in for service.

Does the 7th gen have some kind of idle air control valve?? May wanna check on something similar to that because it only shutdown at complete stop. May also be the o2 sensor.

Well, he won $20 becuase he said he knew somebody would put a comment about using 91. Get over it Vinnie! And yeah, Im with you about the Fuel pump.

The alternator seems like an interesting choice tho as well. Abe was running the 2 12" Solobaric L7s and pushing them like none other for the longest time. He says hes going to get it diagnosed tomorrow, Im about to fix his rear strut in about 15 minutes. I'll give him that idea.

Chase....make sure hes not out of blinker fluid too. Thats been quite notorious for causing problems.

Also....youre three choices would have been top on my priority list too. Although.....check the spark plugs anyways. Also...the alternator is a definate possibility seeing as to how i destroyed my last one with the same setup. If none of these work....just tell him to go ahead and get a replacement K20 and just stick it in there. Im about 100% sure that will fix all his problems.....including almost losing to a 5spd LX!

Yup that and clean the tb and reset the ecu. Could just be something sticking. But iac controls idle

I think it might be the alternator... This is from personal experience (not my car though).

alternator?...doubt it if he can restart it there....if its bogging and dropping low in rpms while in gear in the auto than its prolly his injectors because they're clogged so the fuel doesnt get to the cylinder until enough pressure builds up to force spray it into the cylinders which causes too much fuel to burn at once and it floods the cylinders with too much fuel causing it to bog low...it gets to run too rich when that happens...also tell him to check and clean his throttle plate...here is how

1) take off the intake so the throttle is visible from the inside
2) get carb cleaner and a rag
3) make sure the car is off than open the throttle plate
4) get the carb cleaner and spray it on the rag and on the throttle plate
5) wipe clean the throttle plate and area around it with the carb cleaner/rag
6) put intake back on and restart the car and try too see if it does it

also buy some fuel injector cleaner from autozone and put it in your gas tank...i recommend the amsoil P.I. which isnt availible at stores or u can use the bars leaks products....check the fuel filter too

that part bolted to the left of the tb. with the intake off, you can see a small air port and the iac should be attached to the side.

i had the same problem...and it was the TCS sensor on the Throttle Body...supposedly "they go out sometimes" according to the dealer...it use to happen to me before, my car would stutter, drop really low rpms, and then die out...i always use to turn the a/c on just before i stop so it could boost up the rpms a little...hahaha...don't say u guys never done that before!

my bet is the iac valve. its on the side of the throttle body held on with 4 screws. Sometimes they get stuck closed or open with carbon. some carb cleaner on it usually fixes the problem. If he gets a cel. I have a reader and can scan it for him.

iac valve along with a derrrty throttlebody/throttle plate would be a cause for stalling
