Shes from SD, so Harbor wouldnt be a great idea. 57N is fine in the morning, 57S is fine at night. Both are screwed if there is an Angel/Mighty Duck game tho. Or if somebody is stupid and gets in an accident.

And baseball is until the first week of October, than playoffs, which the Angels might make, which would extend it until the mid-October.

HOly crap!! 2 hours??!! Im in Oceanside, which is just about 70 miles from my school, according to mapquest. So i guess im just going to be fighting traffic, yay me. The good news is that when real classes actually start, i'll be getting out at 230, so maybe i can beat the worst of the traffic.

i can't move closer. I have no income, and a 1 year old daughter. My baby-sitter is out here, and im paying her half of what i would have to pay up there. Besides, with no job, and a kid, its hard to live on your own, pay for school and go to school full time. So, im mooching off my parents (free room & food) and i will commute. At least for this 1st year.
That really will be a hard drive and you will be well burnt before year end. In the same situation, i would stay home to, but can't you apply for financial aid, get a little side job and apply as independent? and stay at family housing (idk if fullerton has that, but i know ucr does) Driving just 30 miles during the beginning of rush hour usually takes more than an hour, so the best to you. And seriously, just become friends with lots of girls, they will help take care of your little girl.

I already have financial aid, as much as i can get from the gov't. I have already taken out a private loan to cover what FIn. aid doesn't. Because this is a private law school, it has no housing, or anything like that. ITs not affiliated with CSU Fullerton, its just across the street from it.
I've been thinking about taking the coaster to Fullerton, but im not sure where the station is, how far away from the school it is. If its close enough to walk, (>1mile or so) then i will take that and save myself gas money and miles on my car. If not, eh. This is pretty important to me, so i will suck it up and drive.
And, when would i work? I am going to school full time, i have to watch my daughter, and it is against the "rules" to work more than 20hrs/wk if you are a full time student. That won't even cover the cost of gas! So, its just not worth it to get a job right now.

Ok...so the train is out.
Guess its driving for me! Good thing my parents are subsidizing everything else besides tuition, or else i would never be able to go to school! You should have taken classes at the El Toro campus in Irvine...
As for traffic, its bad around the 8AM-10AM time going 5 North then to 57 North.
On the 57 South, Before the 91 interchange can get slow as well as the 22 and 5 interchange because of the construction.

You're willing to drive 140miles a day for school! That's about 4hrs stuck in traffic, and you also need a little time to cool off before classes. I really admire your dedication
Taking the train is actually not a bad idea, you can sleep or study while riding it. What about have another car (cheap one) and park it at the train depot in Fully and use that to school, on the way home, park it there, take the train to SD, and your main car is waiting in SD train depot?

Yeah right!!! Im not leaving my car at any train station!!! If i had a beater, that would be different. But i only have 1 car, and its my pretty civic.
But thats a good idea! Im gonna see if i can find a beater for really really cheap, and do that. If i can find a ride to the train station that early in the morning...........Hmm! Good Idea!
