Argh... this morning there was some metal shrapnel in the road on the 55 and the cars in front of me came to a complete stop... Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but at the time they stopped, i was trying to move into the right lane and had my head turned to check my blind spot. When I looked back, i couldn't stop in time...
AAA is taking care of me, but I wonder if the price of an OEM hood is about the same as a CF one, do you guys think a body shop that AAA referred me to would be willing to make the switch? haha, actually I should really be worried about the extent of damage done to my car and the other drivers, cuz it looks like it's going to be on me

yeah, but i guess cuz i don't really know of any shops out here and I figure I should use one that AAA refers due to: (1) AAA recommends them and (2) they'll be able to process the paper work quicker.
Of course, I could be completely wrong, but i didn't want to have to have my car sit at my parking garage and wait to schedule an appraiser to come out, then get a check and try and find a local shop to do the work... I figure this way, once they assess the damages, they can start the work right away (after informing me, of course). I dunno, never really been in a serious enough accident that my car couldn't be driven. Thankfully I got rental insurance :-)

eh ... a CF hood (especially used) would cost way less than an oem hood.
I'm sure since the shop is gonna paint your front end anyway, just get a used CF hood and ask them to paint it ... that's what I did

^^
Yeah, haha, good idea; can't hurt to try
I'm definitelyworried about damage to the clutch/transmission because there was some rubbing sound that would go away depending on whether or not i was accelerating or whether I had the clutch down... I don't think the frame is twisted because it didn't look like the coolant reservoir or anything was pushed back, but then again, what do i know.
Damn, I hope everything is repairable, I don't wanna give up this car.
