I used to work over at MGM. Good luck with your scripts, but first expect to get a lot of doors slammed in your face. The trick is to get to know as many people as you can, and you have to be really good at pretending like whomever you're talking too is just the most fascinating person in the world. Hollywood is all about being fake and a great a$$-kisser. I would suggest looking into getting the film made yourself. With the current state of technology and cost of equipment you can get some pretty good indie movies made for under 10K. Once you actually have a movie in the can you can start entering it in different film festivals. It's a lot easier for people to take notice once you've actually done something. The sad truth is that there are just as many people who think they're screen writers as those who think they're actors... so saying your a screenwriter pretty much means cr*p unless you've actually done something people would've seen. If you are really good at it (or just really lucky) then someone will take notice when you have some work under your belt. You may never become one of the incredibly few who actually strike it rich, but at least you'll be able to do what you love... and isn't that what it's really all about.
