alright so im thinking of getting rid of this.
im might sell my car soon so i want to get most of the interior back to stock.

what it looks like


it is a VGA touchscreen with USB. it has one VGA input and two composite video inputs. runs on 12 volts. it works fine no problems. the only thing you have to do is find a place to mount the buttons and ir sensor. so it is somewhat a custom job.

i would prefer if it is picked up and traded in person. thats why im posting in the socal section first.

just seeing if anyone is interested. i dont think i can finish this project with the income im getting right now. i have other things to pay off. i was thinking if i can get 500 for it. or trade your stock cd player and the center dash plus 300

im just selling the screen and the console piece.

my whole setup was this

EPIA M10000 mini itx motherboard
-with 256mb DDR ram, 60 gig 3.5" hard drive, 40x CD player, firewire, usb 2.0 and all that junk.
ITPS voltage regulator/shutdown controller(so that the computer turnson when i put the key in the ignition and turns off when i pull it out)
12 volt 200 watt power supply
one SLA 12 volt tank battery
misc wiring
and the screen of course.

check www.mp3car.com and click products on the side, theres lots of carputer related stuff there. also i wouldnt recomend using the ITPS as a voltage regulator, the voltage dropout is weird so it wont work with some compenents. but there is a way to disable the regulator part and just use it as a shutdown controller.

had no problems with the hd skipping, but i heard using a hard drive in a car setup will decrease life a bit. nothing too noticable. the hard drive im currently using is about 4 years old and it still hasnt failed after 6 months of car use.

im not too serious about selling it at the moment but i know i'll have to keep it in good condition if i want good resale from it. the car was my dads when he bought it in 2001 and it was given to me so i really didnt have a choice in what car i wanted so yea its kind of that i didnt get any say in what car i was getting.
my parents gave me 10 grand for down paymeny for any car i wanted back in january but they took the money back a month later and my dad bought a new car for himself
lol i still love my vic tho.

kimchi29, the carputer stuff with screen was around 600-700 total if oyu include wires and all that crap. and yes i can do installs if you want to pay me

oh yea i forgot ot mention that i had gps, bluetooth and voice recognization on my system too.

BTW if i do decide to sell this im still keeping my carputer in the car i will just be getting a new screen for it wheter its an indash or molding a new one.

GPS is via a USB antenna
bluetooth is also a USB dongle
im using a mic for voice rec.

damn that sh*t looks fukn awesome...thats what i was hoping to get done to my car...center console touch screen like that...with the dvd/mp3/cd etc. player on the bottom part of the console right above the cup holders...kind of like your setup...oh man i wish i had the money! i just got some teins, need to save...ahhh, that looks soo sexy! good work!
