I'm stuck in Iraq, racking up the $ and I have a 2001 civic dx at home! MY father bought me an 03 ex engine, since I blew mine up a few months back! Now before I put the engine in my car I want to build it! I have a set of DC Sports 4 into 1 headers on the way, and a long list of other parts I want, I need help finding some of these parts! Also, I'm new to the import tuning world, so I may need asstance in modifying my plan! So heres what I wanted to do........ AEM cai, or V2 can't decide! apexi vtec controller, AEM pulley kit, AEM Cam gears, exaust(brand or style????) Dh-rachin.com 10:8:1 oversized pistons and rods, dh-racing.com throttle body, throttle body spacer, dh-racing.com valve springs, titanium retainers, and oversized valves! I also need to know what kinda machine work will need to be done, keep in mind I will be running a NX system 50-75 shot! any help you can provide will be helpful! I plan on spending $5,000 or less if that helps! also how much horse power should i expect to gain?

i would get a turbo instead. Dont buy anything from DH racing they just suck

K20 would honestly be the way to go, but if you are going to go with the EX motor you have, Id say Port/Polish/Stroke, dont worry about the NOS (since the engine wouldnt be able to hold much) and then go with the Unorthodox Pulleys, DC Ceramic Coated headers, Apex'i VTEC/AFC controllers & N1 exhuast. As far as pistons/rods go, Id say to do a lil more research into those, dont be afraid to spend a lil more money for these and lag on the VTEC/AFC controllers. These go bad and $$$ out the door.

yes, but where would i be able to find a set of pistons and rods, besides dh-racing.com, and i already have dc sport ceramic coated headers on the way!!!! whats an afc controller??? and is an apexi vtec controller worth it?

AFC is a Air/Fuel Controller and Apex'i makes a nice one. As far as pistons and rods, Im not sure if JE has made anything yet, but they usually make a really good product. If you are going to turbo your vic, get a complete kit as they have everything you need minus the AFC/VTEC Controllers. If you are going to go for a lot of power, then yes a VTEC controller would be worth it.
