I said, Black Housing. I know how to clear the headlights, but I need the input into how to paint my housing black, what type of paint, what recommendations.... etc.

I used that high heat flat black paint spray paint...the one with the picture of the barbecue on it...and pick up some clear silicone at an autozone...pretty much all the material you need

so when I paint the chrome, is there any kind of prepping work I should do? Also, how many layers of paint is optimal?

I used gloss too! Right on bro! ahahaha. I didnt do any prepping and after 3 years its still doing fine. But I guess you can use wet sand paper to take off the chrome then spray paint it.
