Update: RSX CLUSTER CONVERSION...PICS INSIDE
ok guys its time for an update with pics, the other thread was getting long so i started a new one..i finally got the first bracket out ..its not the greatest looking but it wrks, this one is just to testing out where all the holes need to be drilled and what needs to be trimed on every other part that i will make from that mold...basicly a templet...
give me some time and ill explain what every thing is..
This is the bracket i made to hold in the new cluster, like i dais this is a ruff one and will be used as a templet..the others will be tons better..i was in a ruch to get the projects going since there is alot of wrk to be done..

Back side view of bracket

This how it will fit in the civc stock location

this is the btm side of the bracket...here this is where the two scrws will hold the cluster to the bracket..remeber the RSX clust mounts from under the dash and now the top like in the Vic.

Heres what she looks like with the bracket mounted to the cluster
This is the actual dash...not in a car of course with the front panel off..this one is my OEM one out of my car after makeing my new CF dash..bracket fits in perfectly...hole line up right for the guides and the screw hole r dead nutts for mounting it to the OEN dash.

In this pic you are looking at the factory pluges taken out of my OEM cluter ( that thing is useless now) the pluges have been pined up by ruben and wrk perfect with the RSX cluster..plugged it in and on the first run it worked like ****...good wrk ruben

Ok here is the problem as of now . Since not every one is going to want to chop apart there OEM cluster to remove there plugs need to make the kit wrk...new pluges need to made to make it a plug and play kit... here your looking at a few sample ideas i was running through the other night...one is made of fiber glass and ther i made of epoxy.. these plugs will slide right into the OEM harness located in the vics dash...once they r pin'd up of course

here you see the actual mold i had to make in order to make the plugs..i could tell you how this is done but then i would have to shoot you...

top veiw of mold being made

Remeber with out the plugs ..its not plug and play...for now we have to call tons of places to look for Civic clusters just to cut these suckers out of them...wich sucks cuz they want a grip of cash for them...which means a higher cost for you when we sell...but if all goes well with the mold makeing of the plug ruben can keep his cost pretty low...
All we need now is the bezl..as you can see in the pic below the RSX cluster sites higher then the vic's OEM and a gap needs to be filled on the btm...also the RSX cluster has different countours then the vics bezl....so i need to fab a new one and make a mold of it and were done..ill strt this this weeks and hopfully it will be done by sat...and I'll post pics of this as well.

what doyou do about the odometer though? you would not want to get busted for odometer fraud, so you would some how have to find a way to set it to the current reading of your stock one.

well this was are first attempt at makeing the plugs for the harnest, ruben was being a little b^tch and had to see one befor he left my pad so we pulled the plug out to early from the mold so it came out kinda f^ck-up..but you get the idea...now i have to make another one ...this time with no rushing...
Every one thank ruben!

is it going to be a plug or adapter you are making? are we gonna have to do any wiring of our own for that plug or is it just 'plug and play'?
it is indeed plug and play and does not enhance any calibrations. U will read same rpm and it will add milage as u would on ure stock one. It will not keep ure stock milage though. if an accurate milage reading id needed the dealer can get it off the ecu for u

i would be to if i beat it as much as you do temo...hahah
yes ruben is right it is plug and play, thats why were makeing the plugs r selfs..if not you would need to rip apart your OEM clustr to get these plugs... Nothing will be affected buy the new cluster..it will all wrk the same just as befor...
milage is stored on the cluster itself....were trying to figure out how to pinpoint where exactly this is at on the RSX cluster so we can mod it to read your curent mileage...when we do will let you know...
