with opec and all these recent situations in foreign countries, it is hurting us...the consumer, but dont forget, we have out own little amount of gas, nothing that will last more then a week. we will not open out reserve of gas, rather when gas DOES hit 3 bucks a gallon, GW Bush will do something about it. and no, it is not his fault for all those who like to point fingers. ;-)

LOL
Are we going to start talking politics here?
The reason for the Iraq war? The reasons the President gave to go to war are SHIFTY AND SHIFTING. Shifty? Why? Because it went from them HAVING weapons of mass destruction and shifting to them HAVING the ability/plans to create weapons of mass destruction. Remember that none were found?
Anyway, I don't like discussing politics; so I'll end it there and hope that we do not continue to discuss it here.
Back to the main topic == gas prices.
I pay 2.13 per gallon, and that is only for 87 octane.
Damnit.
Damnit.
Damnit.

the reason that gas prices are going up are because of many diffrent reasons around the world.

1. the gas companies are changing the way they make gas from a winter formula to a summer formula.
2. in the east coast there is a high amount of fossel fuel being used to keep them warm.
3. when ever there is a demand people will buy gas at a fast rate. so the set price of gas will grow. because people think the gas prices will get even higher they think that if they buy now at a lower price it will go down, so because of this artifical market pull of the price
4. OPEC is limiting the amount of oil that is sent over here to keep the prices up.
5. even though the gas prices might seem high to you. at a real rate of inflation from the 60's and 70's gas would be like 6.00 dollars a gallon. in 1970 it only was a quarter a gallon.

that why we have to get more fuel efficent cars, thats why i guess we are all here... hehe.. i feel sorry for people that have big *** SUV's. good thing my mom just got a prius, gets like 55 miles in the city

its not too hard, its easy ecomonics 1A... demand and supply

I remember when premium hit $1.32/gal and my built XR100R dirtbike had to have at least 92 to run right. I thought gas was soooo much then haha. well, I was like 13 at the time so it kind of was expensive. this is exactly why i sold my last truck, 8.4mpg!
