Rip Sleepie
San GAbriel and Colorado in Pasadena. I was off to do some Christmas shopping and I had a couple things on my mind... to make a long story short I cut off another car and didn't have time to stop. [And for those of you who have sat in my car] No it wasn't because I was tailgating! It happened last Monday and I wanted to make sure the car was totalled before releasing it. I called today and the body shop claims they are 90% sure it is a total loss.
At first, I thought maybe this is a good thing because that means I get a new car. WRONG! My dad is the one getting the new car, but I think he really does deserve it. All his hard earned money has been going into my car.
I have no idea what his current budget is but we've been looking at cars as low at below $20,000 [2WD EX Element and Accord], cars beyond $30,000 [2003 I35 and 2003 G35 Sedan], and cars in the middle [TSX and C230K]. Maybe you guys can help him out, he wants to check out the cars at that LA Auto Show but wants to buy this car this year! [The LA Auto Show begins on the 2nd of January] Its going to be quiet difficult to research and find the best deal on the car before the year ends!
Here are a couple of before and after pictures to make you throw up:
Before: [Taken by AK and Christian thank you guys - December 18, 2003]
After: [December 22, 2003]
My mom claims damage wouldn't have been as severe if the car wasn't so SLAMMED!
As for the parts/mods on my car, they are currently still on the car, which is at the shop, Jamy Autobody, Temple City. I will create another thread to part out my car, if I do. I might just give it all to Rebecca.. So please don't post dibs here. Don't PM me about them either. No, not even you!
Thank you everyone for all the great times that I've had on this site! Especially those bomb *** meets hosted by Christian and Jeff. I'll be adopting a 1994 Honda Accord LX pretty soon.. I guess you can call it my punishment car.

Just go with the car your father loves and enjoys riding in. I must say the cars you listed are all pretty nice cars in their own ways.
Like Alex stated atleast you're okay. but DAMN!!!

Thanks for the support everyone. Everyone here feels like the accident was a waste of money. Especially my mom because she was the one payin' the payments. I do you have future plans for the Accord. I'll be posting pictures tomorrow and hopefully by then have a short list of future mods for the ride. For sure, the Accord is only going to be exterior show.
Unfortunaly for my mom, I think I'm going to slamm the car first. I just don't really know what to slamm it with because I'm sucha 7thgen girl.

That really sux but to be the broken record of reason, at least you're ok.
That first crack up pic you posted was so nasty I almost thought it was a chop.
Good luck with your future plans.

as long as there is no crinkles in the roof ..then to me that car can still be fixed..from what i hear the front supports should all come off..there made to be removed and exchanged for situations such as this...my accrod had the same kinda damage when i crashed it...I sold it to a Mexican guy for 750 and the insuranced payed me out cuz they said it was totaled....but they let me keep the car...well that guy went and pulled the frame poped on some new fenders, hood and bumper and sold the thing for 4 grand......Damn mexicans can fix anything

Holy **** Monica that is really fugged it. Sorry to hear about your accident but Im glad to see that your ok. Damn I would suggest a k20a swap but you should go with a new car if you can cause your dad probably deserves it more. I know cause my parents drove a beater when I had a new car and they deserved better so they got a MLK320. Anyways if you need anything just give me a call. Damn those pics really hurt me when I saw them....GL with everything and I think your dad should go with the I35

i can relate to what happened... 2 years ago the same thing happened to me, i had a lot on my mind and made a lane change also and hit a CRV that was stopped because of traffic... although I saw it comin, I slammed on the brakes but it was too late... HX = no ABS... since i braked a little, there was no frame damage lucky me... so thats why my front end is all aftermarket....
RIP sleepie and have fun modding the accord... parts for it are pretty cheap and way easier to come by... keep it clean like your 7thgen...
