the reason i couoldn't find it was cause i thought it was the blue wire, and thats for the attenna, for some reason the only instructions i got were in french... well now that i looked on kenwoods site i can't decide between the blue white, or the pink black.....
^^ yeah hook it to the cig lighter if you cant find the remote. Or just use a tester and see which one stops putting out current when the ignition is off. Also kenwwod is retarded sometimes and calls the remote the antenna wire. so put it to a tester and it may work!
check the ampcontrol wire or the external amp wire for current. Either of those could work. All you need is power that automatically comes on when the stereo does. but check those to see which one puts out power when the radio is on and none when the radio is off.
Been like 3.5 yrs since I worked at circuit city installing stereos but the pink/black wire sounds familiar for kenwood.

I'm telling you bro, Check that antenna wire. It should put out power when the system is on and no power when the system is off. I'd be willing to bet ALL my points on it. If you cant get it done youcan stop by my way and I should be able to get it finished in like 5 mins. I used to do this for a living. lol good luck!

dam it, i tried the blue white(external amp) and the pink(external amp controller) and the blue(attenna)...
none work, then i though it was the amp... so i get my trusty volt meter from highschool and hooked it up. it showed power everywhere. so i though it was those wires, so i ghetto rigged it and i got it to turn on.
i really like it... there is only one problem, when it hits, it umm, dimms ALOT. i can't even turn it up half way, it kills my HU and it has to restart.... dam it... stupid dvd player...
so im thinking of a HO alternator, a cap, and a red top.
dru106 helped me... he though i was going to blow it...
so at the next meet can somebody help me connect it to something that will work, im too lazy to look for something..,

dude, if you have power from those wires and you cant get the amp on you got issues. lol if you ran the constant line to the remote terminal you would be able to turn the amp on. ALL newer headunits come with a remote amp turnon. the antenna wire is for power antenna's which work like a remote amp wire
you got something a$$ backards somehow. lol you need to go buy a cap and it'll stop the dimming. redtop wouldnt hurt but isnt 100% needed right away.
If you cant fix it bring it over I'll wire the right way for you! Hell I'll even drive over there to check it out for you.

A cap is not a major drain...it is only like a half a volt.
I dunno about you guys, but the only time i ever notice my lights dim is when I roll down my windows...never with playing my system...although my car did shut off one time when I was bumping it to hard, but never had this problem since I got my new battery.

your amp pulls power from the cap first putting less continuous strain on your electrical system. it basically acts as a temporary battery. It's WAY less harsh with a cap then it is without a cap.
that antenna wire should put out Voltage when ever the HU is on. Other wise a power antenna (its main purpose) would be going up and down everytime you changed modes. lol
