What tires for stock wheels? HELP MEH!
I know if I posted in the Wheels forum, they'd never get back to me. The forums have been slow lately. Anyway, Californians, what size and model tires did you use to replace the Firestones?
I have Neuspeed Sport drop. If possible, I want my car so the fender is right above the tires, No Rubbing. I've been thinking about either 195/60/15 or 205/(55 or 60)/15. Max price: around $60 each. Above average performance, but something that will last around 35,000-40,000 miles if possible. Any ideas?
Yokohama Avid H4?
Bridgestone Potenza RE910?

Alright thanks guys. At first I always thought Falken tires sucked... But I've been reading about the Ziek and Azenis and hear good things about them.
Question: I'm confused. Mounting and balancing should be done when the tires go on the wheels? or what? Say you order 4 tires from Tire Rack. Don't they offer free mounting and balancing or something? so... Obviously you're not gonna send them your wheels so they can put tires on and send them back. Does mounting and balancing have anything to do with the wheels at all?
Damn, I feel like such a noob... : P
Hassoomi - Driving around ghetto San Diego sucks on 205/40 series rims. I'm going back to Texas for Christmas, so I'm gonna pick up my steelies, bring them back, and put some rubbers on the suckers.

Since you already have a set of wheels, I recommend going to an actual tire shop. Unless you get a really good deal on tires somewhere else...
What they do is:
1. UNMOUNT your tire off the wheel.
2. MOUNT the new tire on the wheel.
3. BALANCE the wheel/tire by adding a small weight onto the wheel so that the wheel won't wobble while your driving. They have this machine that spins the wheel/tire and then tells them what weight to put...
Usually that runs around $9-$10 per wheel for mounting and balancing. So if you order tires online or from someone or from a shop, your gonna have to take your wheels and tires to a tire shop to get them mounted and balanced for around $50. But if you buy from a tire shop, they usually can cut you a deal (cuz you don't have to deal with shipping). So keep that in mind when shopping for tires. Add like $50 to the total of the tires.
