Rep Power: 0 Yes you can use radar detectors legally here. I have the passport 8500 and it's perfectly legal. People have them on their sportbikes here too so it's all good.

Rep Power: 355 I'll add my .02. I've lived in almost every town that there is here and have a pretty good feel for it all.
Here's a map of it all.
When you stayed in what we call All-white-tukee you were down by the numbers 17 and 15. I've collectively lived with 5 miles east or west of where the 101 freeway and US 60 intersect for over 10 years (about an inch to right from where you stayed). I know Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and Ahwatukee very well. Like everyone has said the home prices are affordable on the outskirts and appreciate well, however, my 03 Civic has 88K on it and I will be the first to tell you that I cannot stand commuting 60 miles eack way to work. Is it worth the homes appreciation? Well thats up to you and what you deem important to your quality of life.
I currently live inbetween where the 51 freeway and the number 13 is on that map. This map is a little old and the 51 now connects to the 101. Compared to other cites, the only downfall of our freeway system is that we outgrow it by the time it's built, but unlike L.A. the freeways ARE NOT packed on Sundays at 5PM. Other than that it's not a bad setup.
If you want a frame of reference for where Glendale and Peoria are (members like Alex053 and Dragin have suggested this area) then look to the left of the screen.
I'll put in my opinion and tell you that I've never been fond of the westside. It's on alder area for the most part. There are many very new developments over there but I'm partial. I grew up on the Eastside and it's more central to everything. (Again "everything" is for you to decide whats important) Look at the map, you can tell where the center of the city is.

Rep Power: 355 Without a doubt. I've met some strange people over the internet and I can safely say that, aside from Alex053, everyone here is very normal.
