Rep Power: 0 yeah it's my friends, i saw the bike in person. The VIN number definately looks like it's been rubbed off. We copied down the plate and called the police. They are on the case right now, we'll just let them do their work to try to get it back. It had the stickers, the pipe, the scratch's and the windshield all identical to my buddy's bike. Now the next step is to try to get it back. I think the kid bought it stolen, maybe he knew maybe he didn't, not sure but it's definately his!

Rep Power: 0 Well still waiting to hear back yet, they are investigating it more. **** if the police wont take it back i'll just tell my friend to go steal his bike back since it's his. Fawk, damn police! I hate them and love them at the same time, can't have the best of both worlds.

Rep Power: 0 haven't retrieved it yet, i dont know what is taking so long. I'm half *** tempted to go steal it back, but knowing my luck i would get in trouble for stealing my friends motorcycle back from the thief and get thrown in jail for life!

Rep Power: 0 Well I think were going to get the bike back. The police pulled that kid over again last week and they did a more into depth investigation on the bike and come to find out the vin# on the frame doesn't match up with the vin # on the engine. So once they verify the vin #on the engine match's upwtih my buddy's vin # on that got stolen, he will than get the bike back I'll keep you posted.

Naw can't beat this kid up, he's a really nice guy and had no idea the bike was stolen. I guess he bought it from a kid named steve and by investigation the police think this guy is in charge of a large motorcycle theft ring here in AZ. The kid has receite of purchase, but he seriously had no idea it was stolen. I've talked to him inconspicuously and from the info i gathered from him and what not, i forwarded all that to the police and stuff and it's helping land the invesigation. I feel like i'm a little P.I. Anyways hope to have the bike back by the weekend if everything checks out ok. i'll keep you guys posted.
peace

Rep Power: 0 so yeah guys, i changed the title to my buddy got his bike back. Well i checked the boards and about a half hour ago the guy posted this up on the boards. Hey guys just wanted to inform you all i will not be on any more rides because i dont have a bike anymore. My friend got his bike stolen and we were talking to the cops about it and he wanted to check out my bike so he ran the frame and engine numbers and my engine number came up stolen. I unknowingly bought my bike after it had been stolen, so the police now have full ownership of my bike and i probably wont see any money from it for 6-8 months. Thanks to all for the good rides... Im out.
So yeah the cops took his bike, now they police have it and they got to do something with it and soon hopefully my buddy will get his bike back afterall. I hope they dont keep it forever for investigation, but that is to be determined. Anyways so yeah, he's getting the bike back, i can't believe we actually found the thing after nearly it being gone for about 8 or 9 months ago. YAY!! Case closed..

Rep Power: 0 Ill be the first from AZ, to say, Hell yeah.
This thread got some attention.
Thats good to hear, hopefully you wont have to pay impound fees at the end to get it back. Cuz paying 40,000 to get a bike back after 6 or 7 months, will not be worth it at all. And they will make you pay it.
When my dad got shot, the pig *** fu**ers that didnt help him out, or warn him, had his car impounded. Wait, they did help him to lie down on 140 degree asphault in the middle of the summer.
But he had to pay impound fees after they left his windows up on his CTS, cats got in, caused thousands in damage, and he had to pay hundred to get that bitch out after a few days. It wont be worth anything after cops get a hold of it.
No disrespect to Chris, I like a lot of police, I have friends that are police. Some of them, suck *** though, and think they are the hottest ****, and can do whatever.

Rep Power: 0 Well hopefully he wont have to pay impound fees. Anyways there is a new curve thrown here now to this bike. Comes to found out the bike was pieced together and made at a chop shop. So from what it's looking like, right now all he's going to get back is his engine, his pipe, the fairings and the windshield. Everything else is registered to someone else (frame/wheels/breaks/chain/sprocket) So i guess ifthey can't find who the owner of the other stolen parts are, he might just get the bike back as a hole since just the engine and the fairings really aren't much good. He would need the frame and all the other pieces to put thebike back together. As i gather more info i'll pass it along. As far as impound fees, **** that ****, i would be so mad if they recover the bike and hold it for a few months for evidence to prosecute than have to pay hundres of dollars to get it back.

Rep Power: 0 yeah, it will be in an impound right now Im pretty sure. Ask AZ2K1Civic. He may know? But usually evidence gets impounded I believe. But maybe since it is in their posession right now, it could be different.
