Front Sway Bar
Front Sway Bar
ok guys,
i have been reading the suspension forums but i cant seem to find too much on the different types of sway bars that are offered for our cars..
my stock sway bar is bent and i am going to have to replace it and i was thinking about going with the one offered by progress suspensions.
the only problem is that i cant find any solid info to educate me on what one would be the best. if anyone could help to push me in the proper direction i would be thankful since most of the information to be found is the propraganda put out there by the different manufacturers hyping up there product.
any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.

OEM there are 3 bars to choose from a 15.9mm, a 22mm and a 25.4mm. aftermarket they go all the way up to 27mm. which one is right for you depends on what you are doing with the car, how you want the car to handle (when and where the car oversteersm/understeers), and what your skill level is at driving....
Basically, Anti-roll bars influence the handling balance of the car, while there secondary job is to reduce body roll. a simple way to look at it is this. if you increase the size of the front bar you will cause more understeer and reduce oversteer... if you decrease the size of the front bar you will increase oversteer and decrease understeer. The opposite happens when you alter the size of the rear bar, Increase size = increased oversteer/decreased understeer and Vice versa...
Hope that helps a little.

yeah, i know that....
in the center section that is raised there is a "kink" bend that is facing upwards towards the body of the car and outwards toward the front of the car... i'll have to take a picture and show u when i replace it...
