im new to gainesville!! with 97 civic project

im new to the scene here and wanted to start meeting people since all my mechanic/car-adoring friends are back in south florida. im itching for a project car and have been looking online, i found a decent 97 civic that i want to start rebuilding but dont know ANYONE here and dont want to embark on such an adventure completely alone. if anyone has any advice or experience let me know!!!
